The road going out (the exit road to the A33), not the road coming in (the road coming up from the A33).

They leave from the same bus stop as the buses for Shinfield Park. The queue, as a result, is a bit of a shambles

Can I just mention that the planned security checks at the entrances to Green Park didn't actually happen on Saturday. Some companies did have someone at the entrance to their car parks, some didn't. I understand that on Friday afternoon from 4pm, the entrances to Green Park will be blocked, with access only granted to drivers with ID cards. Anyone used to parking in one of the company car parks in Green Park who doesn't actually work for the company in question will probably be turned away.

I don't live in Reading or anywhere near and none of theses places Like "green park" and "and worton" mean anything to me.
I always parked in the stadium car park , but hate the delays getting out after the game. I haven't been for about 2 or 3 years , but my mum who is a Palace supporter got us some tickets.we will be driving in from Bracknell.
Can someone please explain what parking opportunities are realistically available to us on Friday night ??
I would prefer to pay for an outside the stadium carpark within a 10 min walk if possible.

I'd go for the Holiday Inn or swap the 15min walk for the Mereoak bus.

leon This has the potential to fcuk me up majorly as I travel in by car and have always parked at the HP car park - especially as I drive in with my kids. And can't get the train (without adding another hour on the journey)

Pretty much this for me too. I have actually thought about getting the train, sometimes given the traffic problems I've had I've actually thought it may be worth it. But most of the time it probably wouldn't be, an extra hour on the journey roughly not even considering how long it would take to get from the station to the stadium etc, plus the possiblility of engineering works on occasion. Thankfully I've got a Plan B, but I can see it being necessary to leave earlier in future.

theres a bus that comes from Bracknell, that takes you to the stadium door, costs less than parking, and gets you home as quick as if you had driven.

The Bracknell bus timetables don't exist on the stagecoach site.
They are here: http://www.readingfc.co.uk/documents/re ... 774269.pdf

At £6.50 each it's not cheap though - except for OAPs.

Oh balls. I'm a bit lost without Holiday Inn - what's my best chance of getting in somewhere free of faff? Not too fussed about price.

Vs 8 pound parking, plus 5 pound petrol,

its ok.

Same here but not recently so I'm just going from what the club have put online as parking options per the link. Might be worth giving Holiday Inn a call and asking. Maybe someone could post an update if they get any info that is different to information provided by the club ?

How many pubs run buses to the ground?

One alternative for certain individuals, I realise this won't sort the problem en masse, might be to drive to a pub and park up. Have a drink, buy a bus ticket, get bus straight back to pub, jump into car, drive home.

I spoke with Holiday Inn and the car park is open Friday. Take that as a gift, but don't go shouting out about it - I want to get in there too! :P

Tonight will be the first real test of the reduced parking capacity & 'new arrangements'.

And the best of luck to you folks!
