Hasselbaink before he went to QPR, Justin Edinburgh who is doing a great job at Gillingham and the legend Parky who has done a great job getting Bradford to the League cup final, FA cup quarters and promotion from league 1 in the past 3 seasons.

We were RUBBISH under Adkins. The football wasn't good to watch at all.

If you watch a Reading game these days it's simply untrue to suggest our centre-halves sling it every time they get the ball. McShane is a footballer who tries to get the ball down and play through midfield yet people still come on here after every game saying we only hit it long. No we don't.

Reading reached number 2 with Clarke and I think the highest position BM has reached is 11th?

Now if you had a record that reached number 2 it certainly would be a bigger hit than number 11 in the charts.

Yeah, for a short period Reading were good under Clarke. Shame it didn't last though. Can't dine out on performances of yore, if you lose it and can't get it back, you run the risk of losing your job.

We had been playing like shite for ages. Then he wants permission to talk with another club. He lost the players, the fans and the board. He had to go.

So there is no point just cherrypicking a spell of a few games where we played well under him. Past form doesn't keep you in a job, current form does. To argue anything else is just silliness imo.

Haven't yet seen his successor winning any cups nor charging up the league yet...........

Clarke was given more games to get back (8) than he actually had us playing well for (7).

Agreed. If results don't pick up once he's past his grace period of being a new manager, we would seriously have to evaluate his position. I'd give him the rest of this season, a summer transfer window and half of next season to assess. That's if he doesn't wander off to talk to another club before that amidst a string of poor form.

But yes, troubled times at the mill during Adkins reign, that is a point worth making.
