Is referring to a black person as black now offensive? Or are you just one of them people that likes the whole offended on behalf of someone else thing?

Tbf, would he have said "tall white guy" if he was white?

Lets say it was Peter Crouch instead of the player, and the poster didn't know his name. Would saying "the tall white lad" be deemed offensive?

TBF, nobody would say 'the tall white lad' would they. They would just say 'the big fella' or something abusive like the 'big lanky fukka' which is more offensive, but the mans colour wouldn't come into it. He would be one of 22 equals.

Out of interest, why did you have to point out that the tall guy who creates a goal with his first touch was 'black'?

If the majority of the team were black, maybe.

windermere_royal The game changed on 2 substitutions for me. taking Kermo off who was holding up the ball well was a crime, they bring on the tall black guy who creates a goal with his first touch.
Cardiff looked anything but play-off contenders, hit the bar with a great chance in the first half, but created very little after that. John is so f*cking frustrating. should have buried an easy chance after doing all the hard work at the end of the 1st half. 2-0 and we would have won.
Hold your hands up Brian. you f*cked up again. I am yet to be convinced by his return.
And yes the ref was shit again.

 You can't accuse somebody of being racist anymore without the being-offended police going off on one.

No-one said it was offensive, except people trying to call out others for being offended

oldebiscuit It's not offensive, but the fact that the colour of some ones skin still stands out as 'interesting' in this day and age is a little odd.
Myself, I just saw 22 players.

How do you manage to tell them apart?

Didn't think we were too bad today. A team with more confidence would have had 3 or 4.
How Cardiff are so far above us I have no idea, they rarely troubled us

Only complaint is that we should have gone 442 earlier. It should have been Vydra AND Kermogant, not Vydra FOR Kermogant

I am so modern I don't ever even notice if people are tall or short, fat or thin or even men or women. I just kind of see hazy humanoid blobs these days.

bobby1413 I've not kicked a ball in the last 17 years. The last time was in school where I couldn't even get into the second team as I was that terrible.

However...

I still believe I could put a better cross or corner in than most of the current Reading players.

In fact my Mum probably could too

So why does Brian persist with telling the players to get it out wide and cross into the box? What's the plan B?

Hector is ok as a spoiler. Offers liitle else in terms of a midfield role.

I'd say McD's plan at the moment is not to lose games.

Try big numbers on their backs for one.

There was no accusation of racism!

But obviously there are some subliminal problems her. The man is a footballer, not a freak show.

Or even their names would be useful. It was Ameobi and he looked strong and very clever with the ball. His work rate was not so good so maybe that is why he didn't start the game?

I don,t remember too many decent balls in to the box yesterday.Gunter being the main culprit.

Ref was dreadful. Should have booked Connolly in the first half for a dreadful tackle but instead let the game carry on and 15 seconds later booked John for next to nothing.

Connolly then should have been sent off when he finally did get booked for his "professional job" on McLeary in the second half.

Missed the Ameobi handball in their goal build up and also managed to not see the decent penalty claims for the shove on McShane and handball later.

Usual reason for failing to win though. Unable to get people on the end of what little is created and when it does actually happen they generally have a knack to miss the target.

Until Brian knocks this stupid sideways crap, that arrived with Adkins and was perpetuated by Clarke, out of them and they play with directness and tempo we're going to be lumbered with an under performing side and nothing worth watching.
