ILoveMoonPig Clubs taking players on loan are generally those who just aim to stay in the division until the finances level off. It seems a desperate act to take unless there is a clause to buy the player at the end fit a pre-determined price.

No you're right. There has literally never been an example of any team loaning any player for any other reason than to just survive in the division. No promotion chasing side has ever loaned in players, like ever.

Surely you aren't defending the idea of signing 6 loan players?

It's not ideal, and there are definitely issues with it, but it's not like it's a guaranteed fail strategy, just because it failed in one case.

The problem is much signing another 6 or 7 permanently on top and numerous other things.

just pointing out that getting loans isnnt necessarily indicative of being happy with midtable.

Ian Royal 20 years of footballing success.

Depends what you consider success ! Existence maybe. Essentially he's a property developer who runs a number of companies which JM also has a financial interest in ..

I consider 4 FA Cup QFs, 1 FA Cup SF, 2 Championship Titles, a Football League points record, 1 Top Half Top Flight finish, 1 Division One Runners Up, 2 Championship Play Off Finals, 1 Division Two Runners Up, 1 Division Two Play Off Final and the vast majority of the top 20 beat League positions in the club's history to be pretty successful.

It certainly beats the arse off consistently finishing nowhere in the third tier.

Nobody remembers runners up and near misses, I certainly don't care much for coming 2nd ...

What? No. I'm just highlighting the moronic idiocy of claiming that clubs only loan players in order to survive - it's just utterly wrong on every level.

Ours haven't worked out and that's unfortunate, but the signings of a previously prolific championship player of the year who is a full internati, a fully international 23 year old with a €43,000,000 (lol) buyout clause with 5 seasons of top tier football experience, and a young highly rated Chelsea player with top tier experience are not made merely to "avoid relegation".

At least you're guaranteed 3 points in your next game against Bolton. That should ease the relegation fears a bit.

One of the guys from the consortium was on the radio a while back. They circulate the players they buy between the clubs to see if they settle into one of them.

So Vydra was originally signed by Udinese . Loaned to Brugge. Loaned to Watford. Loaned to WBA with the aim of a sale. Loaned back to Watford. Watford get promoted. So Vydra gets loaned back to the Championship. With a ridiculous price on his head. Based on 36 goals in 83 games in the Championship.

All to do with money. Chelsea are doing same with Hector. He'll never pull on a blue jersey. Probably end up playing for Stoke or Sunderland or Norwich.

Real Reading fans do, it if relates to Reading. And we're the only ones that matter. If you're only interested in finishing first I suggest you switch to Leicester.

Enjoyed hearing from Brian at the Fans Forum tonight.

There might be various question marks about various people at the club on and off the pitch but I don't really think he should be one of them - very proud to have him in charge of the club.
