Dunno, but I guess the rock runners are going to be pleased.

So that's two people who've fooked up in the UK and ended up in Gibraltar. It's like a rejects retreat over there.

Didn't know Jose had been given the Gibraltar National job.

That took a long time. That Everton game was on the 12th March!

Maybe they had Easter off?

Anyway, good to see Pato doing something.

Chelsea Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Antonio Conte as First Team Head Coach.

"I am proud to be the coach of the national team of my country and only a role as attractive as manager of Chelsea could follow that," he said.

It's good you're on here with your knowledge of the game and statements like this - what would this board do without you.

Are you suggesting Conte will be able to get away with not finishing higher next season than this m8?

No - it's quite obvious I am suggesting that there was no need for Genome to say 'The pressure's on next season then" - when that's a given at any club.

Hope Conte handles it better than you, m42.

I would argue there is more pressure than normal for the club to succeed after the season you've had. I don't think you can afford a bad start.

I'm curious Kes, what would be an acceptable finish next season, given this one's utter debacle?

Top half?

Top 7?

European place?

Champions League place?

Silverware?

Silverware and Champions League place?

The title?

What does Conte have to do to still be Chelsea manager come September 2017?

I think Roman’s expectations will be clear from the size of the summer transfer budget he gives Conte. If, as rumoured, the club are looking at the likes of Lukaku, and will spend £50m replacing a want-away Hazard, then it will be clear that CL at a minimum is required.

It would be refreshing if Roman decided that the likes of Loftus-Cheek, Traore, Zouma, Hector and Miazga were the future of Chelsea, in which case expectations would be lower. But I don’t think that’s Roman’s way.
