You could build your whole teams attacking threat around piazon John and a decent striker. Both really improving.

Shame its unlikely to happen

Despite a different system last night-it sort of represented our season.
Zero goal threat-no matter how many opportunities presented & a soft goal.
Really not sure about McD

Habsi 6 Little to do

Gunts 6 Usual really-lots of energy-some good crosses but a lot of poor ones.
Obita 8 MOM roasted their right back
McShane 7 Very reliable
Coops 5 Had his problems in front of Eddie Howe
Norwood 8 In his best position two super strikes
Williams 5 Some good usual driving runs-then fell apart
Quinn 7 Very solid-lot of energy
Piazon 6 Worked hard in his best position-after a contract ? I would keep him if we could.
Kermit 5 Again missed clear heading opportunities
Cox 5 At his worst

Vydra 6 Hmm not all bad
John 5 Shades of Matt Saar at times-marginal that I would keep him

Forest: Well crafted goal-but too defensive for their own good-Mills still a prat
McD : Once we went ahead-should have put Evans on-just to tighten things up.

Ref: Average at best

wingnut Yeah. I don't share Snowball's Williams h8, but that goal was all Norwood's work. The only setting up Williams did was very nearly setting up a Forest attack.

I don't hate Williams.

He can be very exciting, BUT, he disrupts the fluidity of our midfield.

I want to see a midfield like the one that played Everton off the park by sweet
interpassing, not diving around

RoyalBlue Piazon is the type of player we should have been signing last time we were in the PL!

I'd be pleased if we signed Piazon in the summer. I think he is a player that will only get better. He has been a bit lightweight for the Championship but I could see him adapting and becoming a force to be reckoned with.

He had a superb first half and was linking up the play brilliantly.

+1

(We can't afford him tho)

But maybe, maybe we could have him on a season's loan?

John Smith
Lower West MOM Obita.

Ye, he had that no. 22 on toast.

How and when did Nottingham Forest get so bad? They always used to be a good bet for playoffs

By signing Mills. When they signed Mills. They used to be a good bet for bottling promotion.

Reading his bio made his Chelsea first team debut in December 2012. Since then appears to have progressively slipped backwards. With periods out on loan. You never know perhaps this is one piece of business that would be worth doing in the summer. As his attitude last night was exemplary. Looked like a player wanting to make a point. As with Evans can only get better and stronger.

Here is the Fan Verdict I wrote up for Get Reading:

Reading F.C. deservedly take home all three points in their home match with Nottingham Forest

Reading put in the kind of performance that I think all Reading supporters would willingly pay good money to watch. Reading were all over Forest to start the game! After creating chance after chance but failing to capitalize in the first half they were struck by a fluke goal against the run of play and went in down 0-1 after the first 45 minutes.

As a Reading fan from across the pond who winds up listening to games over BBC Radio Berkshire it felt like many of our matches where we were created opportunities but were just missing that tiny bit of quality to finish off those chances.

After setting an initial lineup for the game that saw us starting a good number of players who will actually still be with the club next season. Brian McDermott made some masterful substitutions. Bringing in Ola John seemed to give the crowd and the team a spark. And when Vydra joined him it was only a matter of time before we equalised and then took the lead.

Yes, it took a bit of a lucky deflection for the first goal from a Norwood smash that deflected in off Vydra but that second goal was a wonder-strike from Ollie! No one could argue that we did not deserve all three points!

What an enjoyable match-day experience for me! After choosing the newly promoted Royals in 2006 to be my club team I had dreamed of coming over and watching a match live at the Madejski! I finally decided to take the plunge and thanks to my friends off the Reading Fan Forum (http://www.royals.org) I not only got to attend my first game but felt welcomed like family. The 10-hour overnight flight from LAX to London was entirely worth it. I got to participate in the halftime Lucky Strike Promotion and saw my club play some very attractive football. I can't wait for my next game (which is luckily only a few days away on Saturday vs. Birmingham City).

Man of the Match: Paul McShane (Forest rarely threatened and when they did the Captain cleaned up the mess time and time again. Steady as a rock!)

don't get too involved will you seahawk!
you were the half time entertainment, and now youre doing the match report for the local paper...
throw yourself into th etrip why don't ya!

really glad you had a good time, and a decent match.
it could have been oh so different if youd chosen a different game

genome Yep, definitely onside:

And anyone who doesn't think Forest was playing 8 men back in the second half just needs to look at that picture!

8? That's generous, I counted 9 most of the time.

Didn't that goal come pretty soon after a corner? If so, I'd be pretty annoyed if my team didn't have that number of players back!

How can we not afford a player who is clearly not ready for the Premier League? Is he too good for Reading?

Chelsea must understand what a fair valuation would be for a player that isn't a definite starter for a struggling Championship team.
On that basis he must be affordable. Otherwise he'll have no where to play next season. Unless others rate him alot higher than his genuine worth.

Same with Vydra. I don't think anyone would rate him at £10million at the current time. But £3million is a fair price.
