Euro Championship Player

by howser » 10 Apr 2016 10:03

Now we are safe and have not a lot to play for, should we be offering those players who are heading to the Euros in the summer, arguably the highlight of their individual careers, time to rest ? the likes of Gunter, Norwood, Mcshane and Quinn to now take a back seat and use the squad players to see the season out ? HRK maybe a couple of outings to prove his fitness, but this to give them the best chance to be fit and represent the club in the finals ?

Looked like some of them were resting already.

True indeed.
McShane is a squad player for ROI and likewise Quinn. They may get a token 10 minutes but little more as Ireland get torn a new one by Belgium and italy too.

Norwood is central to Norn Irons plans though so there could be an argument there.
Alan judge (Brentford) made his debut for ROI a few weeks ago and looked likely to make the squad until some numpty from Ipswich broke his leg yesterday and s**t over his plans.
With bugger all to play for there's a solid argument to experiment and give these lads a rest.

Oxf*rd that. I support England. Why give them any advantage - especially The Welsh In our group.

I should add I'm not convinced Gunter will have His potential markers sweating bullets after his display yesterday :(

Was a uniquely poor show on his part.

Fairy snuff but it's a big deal for the smaller nations and in fairness neither norn iron nor Wales have been at a major tournament since....well Betamax in norn irons case and men with long shirts running really fast in black and white BBC archive footage in the case of Wales.

To be honest, this seems an offensively patronising suggestion.

Do you expect Utd, Chelsea and Liverpool to rest their England internationals as the season comes to a close?

Maybe yeah ! Decision for management I suppose, but it could be understood with nothing to play for.

Doesn't matter as far as we are concerned, we got Bale, Ramsay and Williams and maybe Ledley and Hennessey. HRK and Gunter and the rest of em are all bang average and can be replaced. In fact Gunter being injured isn't the end of the world at all.

I'm hoping they pick Rooney ahead of Vardy and Kane just to add to that sh#tness.

Isn't the prize money in the Championship determined by the final league place?
