Pleased for Atletico. But the officials did miss a stonewall pen for Barca.

Balanced things up considering Suarez & Iniesta should both have been sent off.

Barca in getting ref favours shocker

At least Ruud Gullit is 'brave' enough to say it

TV Presenter 'how on earth did Iniesta remain on the pitch after that?'

Gullit 'because he plays for Barcelona'

The oxf*rd histrionics from both teams actually ruined my enjoyment of the game last night. Worse still are the commentators calling it the 'Dark Arts'like there is some subtlety to being a bunch of cheating counts.

Unlikely perhaps but heading towards a scenario that if Liverpool win Europa and man city the champions league then the team finishing 4th (if it's not man city) will miss out as max allowed from champions league from one country is five.

Isn't it just if Liverpool win Europa then 4th place misses out? Man City don't have to win CL

If man city win champions league but finish 5th in premier league we would have six clubs qualifying for next seasons comp.

Only 5 are allowed.

Don't really give a shit about European competitions, and couldn't bring myself to commiserate with WHU if they finished 4th in these circumstances, but I would love it, love it, if it were Chelsea.

Doesn't really matter as Sevilla will win the Europa League again - 3rd time in a row.

Doesn't matter if Liverpool win the EL or not does it? If Man City win the CL and finish in 5th or below then 4th doesn't get a CL place

I hope so. I hope so. Liverpool fans over the years have mocked and devalued the EL and all of a sudden last night was on a par with Istanbul.

I thought only 4 were allowed - so if Man City finish 4th and don't win the CL but Liverpool win the EL, then we get 5 teams?

The Europa League winners spot in the Champions League is not country specific and the CL champions get a spot as well, so UEFA amended the rules to say that a maximum of 4 teams from each country can qualify but a 5th can be entered in they are the EL champions.

This year for example, Spain had Barca, Real, Atletico, Valencia as the qualifiers. Sevilla played as EL champions.

IF the CL winner doesn't qualify by right, then the lowest ranked qualifier is dropped.
