John SmithMaguire People clamouring for Brian to start youth players (and I don't think there's a single good reason to do this) are the same people who will use the subsequent inevitable defeat to beat him up with too.
I'm amazed anybody is questioning the manager's position, it's totally mindless.
I'd rather see youth play than the dogshit on loan. Could you please voice your argument for continuing with the current crop who will be leaving in 5 (valueless) games. Are you a Vydra apologist?

It may be a pathetic argument, but it is an argument/reason and maybe that's what's in Brian's head.John SmithForbury LionWe need 1 point to be mathematically safe from relegation, whilst I'm confident we will avoid relegation there is an argument for not taking risks until you are safe.John Smith Could you please voice your argument for continuing with the current crop who will be leaving in 5 (valueless) games. I think we should put out the best team we possibly can to finish the season with some decent results and take us into next season with some optimism.
Playing youth players before they're ready to step up just means we'll get beat, we'll finish the season badly, we'll go into the summer on a losing streak and chumps on here will be starting threads about how Kuhl/Novakovich/whoever else will "never make it".
As to your last question, I'm not sure what one of those is.

Zammo We’ve arguably got worse with McDermott and now players are fighting amongst themselves. McD didn’t cover himself with glory on the radio this week either. I don’t think there is any doubt that we have / had a squad capable of achieving something this season, so clearly his second spell hasn’t worked. Get rid.

I am for real.
He already had a great squad in place. I could have managed them to a play-off place FFS.

P!ssed Off If Loader is smart he'll ignore the last minute attempts to convince him to stay and move on in the Summer. McDermott can go and watch as many Youth games as he likes, it's his team selections that betray his real attitude to youth development.

Agree with much of what you say but this is a bit off.
It feels like we've gone backwards since Adkins left, but Cooper and Tshibola have established themselves and Obita has held off Taylor. Some of our summer signings were redundant, it would have been better to play Kuhl and Fosu/Stacey than Fernandez and Hurtado. We've sent more players out on loan, and we've had an injury crisis and a collapse in form in the U21s. McDermott's given game time to Liburd and Barrett. Given the form of the U21s and that most of our promising players are unavailable, I totally understand why McDermott hasn't been picking them. I think the team he builds over the summer will tell us more about his attitude than his selections right now.
Loader, like Thomas Lyskov or Jordi Osei-Tutu, would be better off staying at Reading than jumping ship because a big club have come calling. If he goes to Crewe or Barnsley or Colchester then fair play to him. Somehow I think that's unlikely.

Dave-Royalsandman If Vydra didn't repetitively miss the goal then Dellor wouldn't have to ask the question.
