I disagree that it is more or less competitive than many other leagues. The boys who spend the most usually finish near the top, those that spend the least finish near the bottom and the results obv have to fall in line with that. There are always exceptions to that but they are just that, exceptions.

I remember when we went up under Bri Bri and it was all 'wahay little ol Reading against all odds' etc then a few months later it was shown that the 3 promoted teams that season were 3 of the 4 highest wage payers in the division.

Personally, at RB

McCleary >>>>>>>>>>>>> Gunter
Top marks for McD experimenting and finding that one out - he could have used a few other options.

I didn't say that other leagues weren't competitive, and over the course of the season it does tend to iron out like that. But I still think it's a highly competitive league and you certainly get your fair share of upsets.

I saw the goals on Sky and it looked to me that their player waltzed through the right hand side of our team with relative ease for the winner :!:

Anyway, of more concern is the persistence with the soon-to-be-put-out-to-pasture Vydra whilst we have young players apparently not trusted to gain experience in these dead rubber fixtures. Either Brian is utterly incompetent or - just as likely - our shadowy owners have stitched him up with some sort of guarantee that the likes of Vydra gets game time (equally Mr Teflon, the used car salesman Nick(y) Hammond has some questions to answer, he's been very quiet lately of course and he tends to be when results are as diabolical as they have been....).

Isn't that skewed somewhat by the promoted clubs paying promotion bonuses though.

It's certainly been true in our case and I can't imagine most clubs don't operate that much differently.

He was outpaced for the goal which is a shame as he was otherwise superb.

But the diamond formation didn't help either. McCleary had no-one in front of him to challenge Robertson before he even got as far as McCleary. He may have done better as well, but Robertson is pretty quick. Hector should also probably have got across to cover as well given he's the defensive midlfielder and should be picking up runners and stopping them getting as far as the back four

Yeah I do think we need to cut Brian some slack here.

He's had 5 months to work with the players now and results have really improved. He's galvanised the squad that they show passion by head butting fellow team mates on the pitch. The entertaining football has really got the crowds in.

You really caught my eye with the first sentence, I authentically thought you were going to cut Brian some slack, how naive I was!

Do you think No Fixed Abode will go away if we all swear at him at the same time? The word that hopefully will make him go back to Chelsea is STEVIE HUNT.
