AZ didn't intend to screw Reading over it just went that way as what cash flow there was couldn't be extended due other business issues in the family and not having any the right connections to be able to sell all/part of the club on. Least that's the way I read it.
The Thais have money but seem to be more interested in the club infrastructure; Academy, training facilities and R.E.P. than spending big on the team front. Don't get me wrong, for the long term stability and future of the club that's exactly what is required but without any comment or intention coming from them in the local media about their overall plans for the playing side it gets a bit worrying.
I understand from what TD was saying on BBC Berks yesterday though that they will be trying to get some comment/interview with the Thais either directly or via Nigel as soon as possible.
Oh and Clarke made a rod for his own back in being unable to get results out of the, I think, unbalanced and inadequate squad that he had built. A quick flash of what they could do for about 6 weeks followed by around 2 months of utterly turgid crap capped off by a miserable night v QPR where they couldn't even muster a shot on goal (apart from Al-Habsi's pushing of the ball into his own net of course) is what, rightly, did for him.
