bobby1413 If I had known they had that in mind I would have left and gone to Fulham

... Also...

"Look at the top of the table - Burnley we beat, boro we beat, Brighton we drew with. They are the top 3 teams. "

Then look at the shit results post Middlesbrough and then consider that he tried to jump ship to a team lower in the table, and he wonders why he was only given 3 games after that?

Is he too arrogant to consider it was his attempt to jump ship to another club and the destabilising effect it had on the team that might have been the catalyst for his sacking?

No Fixed Abode Good to see Clarke giving a good interview. Honest and came across really well. Certainly correct that BM hasn't pulled up any trees since joining. 1 point gained out of a possible 15 in the last 5 league games. He was being generous about BM. He hasn't even pulled up any weeds.

And of course, there's a long list of clubs that Clarke has turned down since his sacking.

AZ didn't intend to screw Reading over it just went that way as what cash flow there was couldn't be extended due other business issues in the family and not having any the right connections to be able to sell all/part of the club on. Least that's the way I read it.

The Thais have money but seem to be more interested in the club infrastructure; Academy, training facilities and R.E.P. than spending big on the team front. Don't get me wrong, for the long term stability and future of the club that's exactly what is required but without any comment or intention coming from them in the local media about their overall plans for the playing side it gets a bit worrying.

I understand from what TD was saying on BBC Berks yesterday though that they will be trying to get some comment/interview with the Thais either directly or via Nigel as soon as possible.

Oh and Clarke made a rod for his own back in being unable to get results out of the, I think, unbalanced and inadequate squad that he had built. A quick flash of what they could do for about 6 weeks followed by around 2 months of utterly turgid crap capped off by a miserable night v QPR where they couldn't even muster a shot on goal (apart from Al-Habsi's pushing of the ball into his own net of course) is what, rightly, did for him.

Tbf, as much as I liked Clarke, if the complete dud he signed on loan from Watford could put the ball into the net from 6 yards when it's easier to score then Reading and McDermott would be at least 5 places higher.

How much money did Clarke need? I thought he was quite well supported last summer.

Perhaps if he'd not spread his signings so far bringing in the likes of Hurtado, Semedo, Liburd and Fernandez who've barely had a kick, he might have been able to do slightly better than Sa, or PIazon, or John.

LOL at using Liburd and Semedo as a stick to beat him with.

Fair to say with hindsight that he was the wrong man for the job.

And if Vydra really cost £2m to loan, then add him to the mix.

No wonder we've struggled so much this season with all those loan players and other signings playing for free.

genome Some choice quotes:

"I didn't do enough due diligence on the club before joining"
"In hindsight I would've joined Fulham"

Said managing the club was very hard, criticised the owners, said Brian hasn't pulled up any trees since he took over. Basically, he's blameless.

Same as BM is blameless for the crap since ?
