Sanguine Can't see past Barca now for La Liga. Now they've found their form again - their final three opponents are all bottom half (likewise Atletico play two of the bottom five), I think they'll take it on goal difference.

pretty much agree, but Espanyol will be going all out to end Barca's chances. if they are going to slip up somewhere that is where it will be

read ealier that Barca have had 20 penalties awarded to them in the pasr 35 home league games  (although their conversation r8 is shocking)

Crotone on the verge of being promoted to Serie A for the first time in their history. Their manager is a former Crotone player who is in his very season of management.

Apparently the town itself is seriously run down and has the highest unemployment rate in the whole of Italy. The manager was appointed with the target of trying not to get relegated and their success is being seen as quite the fairy story

Posted this on another thread a while back, but in Russia, FC Rostov are on the verge of 'doing a Leicester'.
They came 14th (of 16) last season, and only stayed up through a relegation play-off.

They are currently top by a point from CSKA Moscow, founded predominantly on a stingy defence conceding only 16 in their 25 games and currently on a run of 7 games without conceding. Previous best finish in the Russian top division is 6th. Five games to go.

3 games to go in Germany and getting interesting at the bottom.

Frankfurt beat Mainz 2-1 yesterday to close to within a point of Bremen who they meet on the final day. Stuttgart, Hoffenheim, Darmstadt and Augsburg could yet be pulled into it.

Hannover went down yesterday following the Frankfurt result.

In the 2.Bundesliga - Freiburg have just about confirmed promotion after being relegated last year. Everyone in Germany's favourite club, RB Leipzig can reach the top flight for the first time this year and can all but seal that with a win tonight.

Barca win the Primera Division after a Suarez hat trick.

Suarez ends on 40 league goals in 35 games and 59 goals in 52 matches in total meaning he picks up the Spanish golden boot to put alongside his Premier League Golden Boot, Eridivisie Golden Boot and European Golden Boot.

Jack Aitchison scores for Celtic today at 16 years and 71 days old. Even for the Mickey Mouse league that is a great effort.

When I think back to what I was doing at that age......

Russia's answer to Leicester City need results to go their way this weekend to win the Premier League. FC Rostov came 14th (and third bottom) last season, they are two points behind CSKA Moscow at the top with a game to play, both teams away at mid-table sides.

They have a weird system in Belgium. Literally everything to play for at the end of the season.

After the completion of the regular system, the top six enter the 'Championship playoffs' - their season points are halved as a starting point, and they play each other home and away to decide the winners.

Then everyone from 7th to 14th (it's a 16-team league) enter the Europa League play-offs, for a chance to play the team that finishes 4th in the Championship playoffs, for a place in the Europa League proper.

Blimey.

Le Havre go into the last game of the season 3 points behind and 6 GD worse off than Metz who are in the last automatic spot (no play offs).

Mets lose 1-0 to Lens, on 82nd minute Le Havre go 5-0 up in their match meaning the points and GD are the same. stays that way and Metz go up courtesy of scoring 2 more goals during the season.

Le Havre hit the woodwork 4 times during the game and their keeper had one cleared off the line in injury time when he went up for a corner.

Must have been a mental last few minutes at Le Havre trying to get that 1 goal to send them up

Dynamo Moscow in danger of being relegated from the Russian top flight for the first time in the club's history. Not really helped by a certain Pavel Pogrebnyak's contribution of ONE goal all season.

Relegation 2016 underway here in Germany,

Frankfurt dominated their home game against Nürnberg last night but could only draw 1-1. Don't recall Nürnberg having a shot on target.

The 1. FCN goal was an OG scored by Frankfurt captain Marco Russ, who was playing despite failing a drugs test. Further tests showed that the high readings were caused by a tumour that will require treatment after Monday's second leg.

Frankfurt must score or will be relegated as away goals are used.

2nd/3rd Division play-off between Würzberger Kickers and Duisburg takes place tonight.

Wurzberger Kickers is such a cool name for a football team. What has happened to St. Pauli? They are my favourites :)

Frankfurt win 1-0 last night to retain their place in the Bundesliga - fairly comfortable win too.

Duisburg need a major comeback tonight against Wuerzburger Kickers as the the Kickers are 2-0 up from the first leg.

Still 3 matches left to go in the Spanish Segunda division and things are looking quite interesting

points and teams:

1. 68 Alaves
2. 65 Leganes
-------------------------
3. 64 Gimnastic
4. 61 Osasuna
5. 60 Zaragoza
6. 59 Oviedo
---------------------------
7. 59 Girona
8. 58 Alcorcon
9. 58 Cordoba

Oviedo home to Leganes this thursday. A win for Oviedo could leave 6 teams fighting for the 2nd automatic spot with 2 games left.
