I love football.

I know somebody at work who put a 5ver on it at 5000/1 and promised to take everybody in the immediate vicinity out for an absolute slap up meal and drinks all night/weekend to celebrate.

Who is that twat on Sky claiming it is the greatest sporting story of all time....

Brian Clough and Forest fans everywhere will be spinning in their graves.

When they win the CL next season, they will have come close.

Fully expecting JT to turn up at the KP on Saturday after Chelseas contribution to their cause.

May not be the greatest of all time (I wasn't born when Forest won the CL so cannot comment), is Deffo up there with the best moment i have personally witnessed in sports (with Milan Liverpool cl final and a few others). It is just unbelievable even thinking about it still doesn't seem real

Whereas I was not in any way even vaguely interested in football in the 70/80's.... but Barbara Clough was a friend of my mothers, and her, her husband and kids used to come to parties at ours....he was a bit famous. Consult the AE spreadsheet for the details of the amusing* anecdote.

After they won the league, they went on to win the European Cup. Twice.

When Ipswich won the league, I think they got relegated the season after....

A great great story, real Roy of the Rovers stuff.....but let us keep perspective.

Ian Royal (Kiss of doom) I think they'll do it.

I can't remember whether I actually meant this or not... but I'm bloody delighted for the points deduction inspiring, plucky little underdogs.

I wonder how Pearson feels... but for a couple of moments of madness and a naughty son, he could have lifted the Premier League trophy today.

So Daddy, when Leicester won the title in 2015/2016 how did that happen?

Well son, it started when manager Nigel Pearson's son insulted a Thai prostitute....

Akin to Blackburn winning it in the 1990s?

Pull the other one, They broke the transfer record to bring in Shearer, finished fourth, second and then went on to win it.

In an era when money talks, for Leicester to win the league is phenomenal - its reflective in the odds....

Yeah this basically. Blackburn threw a load of cash on the team that won the league.

Given the money involved in football today I think this is up there with what Forest did.

It's certainly not akin to Blackburn and the SAS. People have such short memories that they threw a shit ton of cash on Chris Sutton (breaking the British transfer record ) and Shearer.

This Leicester team cost £38million to assemble Manchester City cost around £300million. I can't be arsed to look it up but did Cloughs Nottingham cost ten times less than Leeds or whoever else they beat to the title back then?

Quite!

In the violently stratified air of modern-day Big Football, a triumph like this seemed not just remote but impossible. The website Sporting Intelligence has calculated Manchester United have spent more on new players in the two-year reign of their current manager than the new champions have in their entire 132-year existence. There is no back route to the summit. The world has shifted. Some things simply can’t happen any more. This has. How?

Exactly. It doesn't.

Let's go full circle again and look at next season. This would be like Norwich or Sunderland winning it next year. Unthinkable.

Don't think they would have won it under him. Ranieri is just a tactical genius. They have basically the same team as last season bar Kante, Okazaki etc and they have just switched around. Must be the manager.
