The fairytale came true, love it!
It's SO SO good to see the big teams failing with all their money and advantages.
Hope that this signals a new era in football.

This Premier League season would be pretty much perfect if West Ham could now seal 4th place. They still have United to play, and City play Arsenal, which helps, but it mathematically relies on City losing at Swansea on the last day.

Massive congratulations to Leicester in joining the elite of Premier League winners - Chelsea, Man United, Man City, Arsenal and Blackburn Rovers.

Its not a fairytale. Cinderella didn't build a massive new big house and refuse to pay for it. Then after that spend more money than she was allowed to move to a better neighbourhood so she could met meet Prince Charming.

This sadly will not signal a new era in football. It will give teams hope but can you really see such a poor performance from all of the 'bigger teams' in a single season happening again?

That said its been great to see the whole thing turned on its head even if it is just for one season. Leicester have been brilliant and took advantage of a situation that all the other teams in the league couldn't do. Excellent team spirit and management getting the most from the squad.

It's an unbelievable achievement, definitely the biggest I've seen in football.

The real difference between Forest and this era is, of course, the money. The PL is nowhere near as level a playing field as the First Division was back when Forest won the title.

My biggest criticism of the PL has always been that it's a shutout and only about five clubs could ever possibly hope to win it (i.e if you're Reading the theoretical best ever season you could have would be about 6th). Leicester just showed that to be BS and football is all the better for it.

Agreed. Liverpool and Spurs have invested heavily over the years and never won the Premier League.

+1 . This is what makes Leicester's achievement greater than that of Forest, albeit Forest then went on to European successes.

Let's not forget FC Kaiserslautern winning the Bundesliga the year after being promoted in 1997/98

I don't really follow Franch football but Montpellier winning Ligue 1 a few seasons ago was a bit of a shock too wasn't it?

I don't think it is that so much as more about what they achieved in the 2015 calendar year and that they have within a year come from the bottom (and looking nailed-on for relegation) to the very top which is so outstanding.

Kes, as usual (with his own very narrow agenda), is talking about football as if the top level itself has only been going since the advent of the Premier League which, because of it's short history, has only been won by a few.
The amazing thing about the Leicester achievement is that it is the first time for 150 years or so that they have won it.
Teams like Southampton, Stoke and Swansea are in the same boat and with the advent of more money for these types of clubs from next season MIGHT mean that it won't be a gimme that one of the richest clubs will win as they will all be rich clubs.

Also with this new money it means that clubs like Leicester won't automatically lose their best players and unlike losers this season like Chelsea will be able to offer Champion's League football so might be able to attract a better standard of player than they have been able to do in the past.

Regrettably Leicester doing what they have done also reminds us of how quickly things can change in football from Bournemouth and Burnley nearly going out of the football league not that long ago to us celebrating promotion at Leicester, leaving them at the time behind in the Championship.

I give it until Christmas that Leicester are mid table and some of their fans will be grumbling that it is not good enough

Silver Fox That's exactly why this could be an even bigger achievement than Forest

I'm not sure whether people will agree with me, but I do think football nowadays is of a better quality than it was 30 odd years ago. Players seem to be fitter, technically more adept and the game is played at a higher pace.

Therefore, Leicester > Forest.

Jackson Corner
AthleticoSpizz Much akin to when Blackburn won it.......not totally unique....but a real collectors piece nonetheless

Rubbish Blackburn spent millions were 2nd the previous season. Shearer turned down Man Utd to join Blackburn. Walker bought the title Leicester have not.
wind your neck in you miserable scrote....and take Winston with you.

Unfashionable teams with little chance of repeating the feat making them not individually unique.....but the rarity (these days at least) making the occurance a collectors piece.

I'll do a lengthy essay explaining all when Stoke win it in twenty years or so.......roll:

Don't recall this outpouring of this national hysteria before, admittedly
