Why is the availability of buses such an issue in Reading compared to other town/cities?

Other towns/cities have a ring road/by pass so traffic stays out of the area if it needs to get accross the town/city.

Whatever happened to 7.30 KO as standard?

Evening KO in general seem to be becoming more or a ball ache to a lot of people, regardless of KO time. Im sure midweek attendances are way down proportionately than they were say 20 years ago.

That doesn't explain why Arsenal,Chelsea or in town grounds such as Bournemouth, Southampton, Portsmouth,Burnley, Blackburn, Luton etc., etc. are happy with the 7-45 start.
So far it seems evenly split but I do really like HR's 7-30 as being better still and ,like the earlier poster, I have been hit by both M3 and M4 closures for motorway work to be done.

Also seaside grounds only have 3 direction exits for traffic so you might expect greater traffic problems there but they are happy with 7-45.

I tend to make sure I can work in my company's Reading office on the days when we are at home in midweek. On the occasions when I can't, though, I'd prefer an 8pm kick off. There's almost never an evening when my route of M23, M25, M4 doesn't have a problem at some point and that 15 minute buffer can be crucial. When we played Ipswich this season, I was making such good time, it looked as if I would arrive 2 hours before kick off, but the M25 / M4 area was gridlocked and I barely had time for a pint of Good Old Boy.
Perhaps if we could have shorter half times, though, then we could all leave at the same time we would with a 7.45 start. There's no reason for the players to leave the pitch, all they need is half an orange, swap ends and get on with the game!

8pm for me too for purely selfish reasons (I have a bit of a journey to the Madejski and I would have to leave work early which is frowned upon).

Also doesn't the later kick-off give us an advantage sometimes? Like when we knew that West Ham had drawn, one goal and we're going up and so on. Perhaps not very often, but...

If it was 7.45 I might be able to get home reliably afterwards. But then making KO at 8 is hard enough if I'm leaving work at 5.

If we were kicking off in the second half, we might score direct from the kick off might!).Then when the other team don't kick off in enough time, they could all bee booked. That's a win-win for me.
