Just a heads up that there are transport strikes planned in France for 26th May and 14th June. These are national strikes and cover the whole country.

Looking into that, it appears they want to strike every Wednesday and Thursday until further notice.

It sounds like it's not a total shutdown, but services will be heavily reduced.

I am planning to be in France beginning of July so am keeping an eye on the situation.
There was a 2 day strike this week which affected all transport. The French government have asked the unions not to strike during the Euros but doubt they will take any notice.

Useful site to check for latest info per region and sector http://www.cestlagreve.fr/

More worrying from there is that the one on the 14th isn't just a rail strike. It's planned as a full on general strike of pretty much every public sector worker in the country.

There's a similar one being held on Thursday, so we'll need to see the impact of that.

All above are category 3, *FACE VALUE* at €55/£42 per ticket.

I'd guess most will just stay in Lille, which is just 45 minutes away by train, and take the train over nearer kick-off.

Hmm...perhaps Slovakia aren't going to be the group whipping boys that everyone is assuming. Currently beating Germany 2-1, in Germany. In truth, Germany dominated and Slovakia hit two late goals out of the blue, but I can see them shocking Wales, and us probably putting Wales out.

Only HT, and the 2nd half delayed due to a thunderstorm, and the pitch is looking a bit soggy now, to put it mildly.

Game restarted after an hour long half time, and now 3-1 to Slovakia. The German keeper not having a good night. Let a header through his hands for the 2nd, and has now just "done a Federici" and let a shot squirm through his legs for the third.

Lens Council rubbished the British media reports a couple of weeks back saying the only change is that they have banned drinking out on the streets. Booze will still be sold in the fanzone as well as pubs, cafe's etc but those places have been asked to take away any outdoor serving on match days.
