Zammo About 5 people have gone up to the Liverpool supporting guy in the office to say “unlucky, great first half, what a shame etc….”. He’s never been to Anfield. I watch the Royals week in, week out and after we get beat, I get “your lot are f**king shit”. That, ladies and gentlemen, is the way the world works.
FFS.
Not surprising.
There was a group of people in work a week or so ago talking about football. They are all "supporters" of premier league teams and were talking about different premier league matches from the weekend. I was involved in some of the conversation.
Towards the end I said "Yea, did you see the Boro vs Brighton game? That was pretty good viewing". They looked at me like an alien and had no idea of the importance of the game in terms of the winner got promoted. I doubt they even knew what league the teams were in.
I've always struggled to explain to people how moronic it is to support Man United yet live down here and it must all come down to choosing a team that is successful, rather than one you can actually be involved in and support properly.
Leicester have helped in a way, as I said to my mate, imagine saying to someone:
"Who do you support?"
"Me? Oh I support Leicester"
"Oh that's amazing, what a season you had. You're from Leicester then?"
"Oh no, I was born in Thatcham"
"Oh right, you have family in Leicester?"
"Nah, not actually been before"
"Why do you support them then?"
"I just started to like them around 2015-2016 actually. I've just bought the latest home kit"
