Apparently he's a central defender who can also play on the right wing  supposedly should give rise to some quite interesting tactical situations and team formations

Apparently started as a striker (the Dordrecht fans said don't let him shoot... or it'll end up in the stands), moved to the wing, then to central midfield, then to a defensive midfield/CB role.

MoorgateRoyal I know nothing whatsoever about him, so I will reserve judgement until I see him play.

Coming through the ranks at Ajax is not to be sniffed at and he should have a good footballing brain. He's also got the physique for the English game so that will work in his favour.

I know nothing about him and declare him to be a guaranteed success

Tony Le Mesmer Puts in a shift i'll give you that. The bloke is talentless by championship standards. About as gifted as Andy Hughes.

I agree that he doesn't seem to excel in anything, but he's popping up in the right places, ended the season as our form striker. Could haev been worse, he'll net a few next year but won't be the 20 a season man the fans want.

Don't remember too many people complaining about someone not being a Coppell or Pardew signing when it was Brian doing the scouting.

As for Gravenberch, I'll reserve judgement til I've actually seen him play.

Tony Le Mesmer
You think Deniss has been a good signing  Puts in a shift i'll give you that. The bloke is talentless by championship standards. About as gifted as Andy Hughes.

3 goals in 537 minutes while playing for a side devoid of confidence
apparently that equals "talentless by championship standards"

Ffs guys come on. Where is the spirit.

I'm not writing him off until the first 45 minutes of the season.

I like this signing. No signings under 24 please. No Championship journeymen or Premier League has-beens please. I want young, hungry, inexpensive signings from the lower leagues and elsewhere. I want to shed the dead wood and start the season with youth. I'd prefer not to go up next season, but rather see us build a foundation that can achieve sustained success. Once we know what we have with our young players, then we can start judiciously addressing our short-term needs with veterans.

Tony Le Mesmer "he is a player capable of playing in various positions" = he's equally shit wherever he plays.

Ajax got rid. He spent 2 years playing in Romania. BM basically had no say in the signing.

Chances of him being even half successful here? Name your price.

Bet you held the same view when Nicky Shorey joined Reading aged 20 from Leyton Orient.

Happy with this.. someone we've obviously monitored for a little while, have some inside scoop on with BT and have actually had him in with the rest of the squad to see how he works with them. Versatile and covers an area we are short. Good pedigree, but young enough and likely to be hungry to succeed.

What's not to like?

floyd__streete Oh good, a bloke who can't even command a regular place in a struggling Dutch 2nd division side :|

This.
Usually I'm excited by all new signings (even Taylor) but this had me like meh :|

Have to admit it was my first thought.

He looks a bit "lumbering" but we need to see him play before writing him off.

Maybe "potential", a rough diamond like Mansett?

Oh.
