We'd struggle to get either of those two if we were in the Prem.

Paul Lambert or Garry Monk more realistic? Like I said, it's far too early and only made my suggestions. I hope the board take their time.

There are plenty available; and several championship management jobs currently vacant.

Yeh, but not particularly inspiring. Monk has managed to get a decent reputation on the back of one season where he already had everything in place. Got completely found out the following season.

Tim Sherwood's still without a job isn't he? There's another name, who isn't hugely inspiring.

Still think the owners should give it a go as they are the football experts.

They could select the team by Lady Satsuma shooting ping pong balls, with all the players names on, out of her snatch. First 11 balls out is the team for that weeks game.

I think you'll find the Football League strippedQPR of their title retrospectively due to their massive breach of FFP.
Keep up

:?

Look up the word retrospective in a dictionary .....

But the league didn't strip them of the title though?! :|

Genuine LOL and your further comment re Lady Satsuma and ping pong ball selection had me cleaning the merlot off my screen, thanks very much!

ps: I happen to know that Martin Allen would welcome a return, with Phil Parkinson as an assistant, and Terry Bullivant in close support! a proper dream ticket!!!

pps: Hi Dave!!!

Royal Rother Ryan Giggs

Anybody but Ryan Giggs.
With his track record all the players would be looking over their shoulders to see if he was at it with their WAG.
Also Kanu would probably be prepared to sign a contract for no wages just when we have finally seen the back of him.

FFP breach was when they went up via the playoffs under 'arry. Still being investigated for that I think.

None of those listed for me, so I voted other.

I wouldn't want anyone with a Reading connection as it won't be anything like the club they would remember, it probably won't work out, and wouldn't be long before their 'legacy' is tarnished.

Whether Brian was the right pick this time around or not, they picked him, and there was no way he was going to turn the club around in that short time. His appointment should only have been made if they all agreed it would take beyond this transfer window to see signs of progress with a team he could build. The fact that the owners pick more of our signings than the 'proper' scouts or manager was a clear and early warning sign that the club had taken a wrong turn, despite Brian trying to play it down at the time. In my opinion, it probably wouldn't have been 'his team' after this transfer window either, so there wasn't much to pin our hopes on anyway. The results in this period were atrocious, no denying that, but the way they handled the re-appointment and sacking was poor.

As to new names, well I imagine anybody of much quality would be able to see all the disharmony and would be best advised to stay away.

If timing had been different I'd be suggesting Mark Warburton - but there is no way our model would work for him, and no way he would leave Rangers to join this sinking ship. I've also been quite impressed by Darrell Clarke at Bristol Rovers, but he has just agreed a new deal there. Chris Powell would have been ok (not sure if better than Brian) but he has just joined up with Nigel Pearson at Derby anyway, Justin Edinburgh has done a decent job at most of his clubs (and would at least play Dominic Samuel), Dean Smith has also done quite well at Walsall and Brentford but would be better off staying where he is, and previously touted Oscar Garcia isn't going to be picking us over Red Bull Salzburg.

That leaves one standout candidate for me - not that I think we would get him either. Neal Ardley at AFC Wimbledon.

Back to reality, my hunch would be Samrit or somebody from Holland, failing that it might be Avram Grant. I did like the Lady Sasima suggestion above though...

Mick Gooding maybe. Or Dion Dublin. Or together they could do some overtime showing people round Royal Elm Park or whatever it's called? Just a stone's throw from Kennet Island. Then anger management classes for Dim Tellor in the evenings, perfect.
