Maneki Neko surely if you don't renew before deadline, you'll have to pay full whack afterwards.
you renew and then move, dont you? (no actual knowledge, ive never moved seats :D )

I think there's a short window where the price stays the same

Not renewing my season ticket, have moaned for England on social media and sent Sasima a message on her FB page telling her just what I think. I've got enough "loyalty" points to probably secure FA cup tickets easily enough, if required, but I would rather sit at home in the warm and drink my wine and watch Soccer Saturday than sit freezing in the Mad Stad (which will probably be renamed sometime soon as well) watching a load of dross. I was disgusted that they got rid of Brian so quickly. They've already said there will be no money for players - so we have to rely on the youth. Who could get the best out of our youth and knows the set up better than anyone? Oh yeah, Brian, so let's sack him, waste money in paying off his contract and bring in somebody else who will have a great time trying to motivate what players are left.

Plus, I still think they only ever were interested in the area around the ground for development and if we're not very careful, we'll end up having to reinvent ourselves as AFC Reading.

I always renew after deadline, through sheer disorganisation and always get the lower price, so probably correct

I agree with you... The situation right now looks very bleak.

Will the owners really bring in a manager with a better track record than Brian? 1 Championship title, 3 Cup Quarter Finals and a Play-Off Final as a manager of Reading.

We're going to end up with a bunch of people with no experience of the English Championship and what is required to succeed in it. We will end up with players from less competitive standards of football in the Dutch 2nd tier and Polish leagues and players that will look totally out of their depth. It will be a culture shock for the players that the Thais are planning to bring in. It will be a culture shock for their manager.

Remember when Tommy Burns took over at Reading as manager. His previous experience was all in Scotland. He didn't understand the standard of the Championship back then. He brought in a whole bunch of players Brayson, Reilly, McIntyre, Brebner and others that weren't up to the standards required to mount a promotion push in League One let alone compete in the Championship. ( Brebner was pretty good to be fair. I was sad to see him leave)

And Burns was only from Scotland, so not too far away from observing our league. But when you don't experience the league, you don't really know it.

Appointing someone with no experience of the Championship within our very difficult/challenging working environment is going to prove disastrous next season and relegation is in my opinion, now a 50/50 bet. I genuinely believe Brian would have kept us safe and started the rebuild. Now, we are looking extremely vulnerable.

As Ian Royal had pointed out, Brian did his experiments and knows what kind of surgery the team needs. All his work has now been wasted. A new manager coming in will have to start that work from scratch and won't have a clue what needs to be done to make us competitive.

The Thais have brought considerable pressure onto themselves now. If we struggle next season, it won't be the new manager taking the heat. The dissent will be firmly directed towards the owners. They should have given Brian a chance for their own benefit. We, as fans were alright with no money being spent on our team. We understand that reality. What we don't accept is knee jerk, stupid, erratic, impatient decision making that will badly damage our prospects as a club.

Spot on! I've supported us in the lower divisions and thoroughly enjoyed each game, in latter years I've stuck by the club during the Burns and Bullivant eras, but we had Sir John in charge and you always felt things would get better - I don't feel that now and can just see this club going out of existence - I have no confidence in the Thais and never did, same as with Zingarevich - RFC isn't about the football for these owners, it's a business - they will never make money from the club but they will from developing the land. That's all they are in it for and meanwhile we are expected to just suck it up?

I just feel gutted at the moment with what I'm seeing happen to our great football club. 145 years of history is at risk with these Thai owners. They should understand what they're messing with.

Explain last sentence. What are they messing with?

History?
Reading mafia?
Fans revolt?
Continued footballing failures?

First of all, they're messing with the Championship. It is an uncompromising, ruthless division that doesn't take prisoners. If you don't know how to play in it, it will crush you.

Secondly, they're messing with 145 years of history. I, like Royal Lady am concerned that the way they are running the club, there may not be a club in 5 years time. Their intentions are unclear. Are they only looking to develop REP, take all the profits and run, leaving RFC with no assets? Are they going to load RFC with debt chasing big name foreigners desperately attempting to gain access to the riches in the Premier League. Are they risk takers? Madejski didn't gamble Reading's future. He ran the club in a controlled fashion. Foreign owners may take excessive risks chasing the big prize. They don't really give a sh*t if Reading are gone in five years time. If they win, they win big. If they lose, Reading FC goes to the wall. They don't care and they don't lose.

Thirdly, if their intentions are to take excessive risks and make dumb decisions, then they are messing with Reading's proud supporters who will dissent within the constraints of UK Law of course. There will be inflatable beach balls, there will be pants waving and there will be protests in the car park. We will not just stand by and watch our club go to the wall. We will wave our pants.

I love Thailand, I think it's a beautiful country. The Thai people are warm and friendly. I hope our Thai owners are those kinds of people. I have not written off the owners just yet, but they're decision making is going to be scrutinized far more closely than ever now.
I hope they will be responsible custodians of a proud and great football club. If they are, then I will grow to love them. At the moment the signs are not good.

I've suggested that they rename the North Stand to the Brian McDermott Stand.

I'm inclined to go with The Reading FC Memorial Stand 1871-2016*

*Subject to change, as soon as I work out exactly when the heart was ripped out of the club.

So they're selling naming rights to East, West and South then?

LOLz @ "suggestions of standy mcstandface will be considered and then quickly rejected" although it does make me think no comedy names* will sneak through

*Not that I think the Brian Mcdermott stand is a comedy name

I'd quite like to see 'The Leroy Lita Stand' for the irony.

Or The Ibrahima Sonko end for the LOL.
