genome Hart, Walker, Cahill, Smalling, Rose; Alli, Dier, Rooney; Sterling, Kane, Lallana.

I just find that back 4 really weak for some reason. And Sterling......

Kitsondinho Obligatory that Chris Gunter at right back looks decent, maybe we should sign him post.....

Was interesting seeing Gunter playing further up the pitch as a wing back and having fewer defensive duties, being ably covered by the right of three centrebacks. He received the ball further forward and was more positive with it as a result, rather than always playing the cautious and negative check back inside to a packed midfield. I think wing back with three centre backs suits him far far better than full back. He's taken a good step towards earning us some good money there... well done Chris.

Thought Wales played very well, though Bale was pretty disappointing. Gave the ball away a lot IMO and didn't create a lot. The freekick was well struck but really should have been saved. Nice to see HRK scuff the winner home.

Not keen on that... too many forwards and attacking players. Alli and Lallana both pretty attacking. I can see Russia waltzing through us with ease at times. Don't really understand that... is Lallana going to be in midfield... Rooney? Oh dear.

Both HRK and Gunter were excellent today. Shame we'll only get money for Gunter....

Rooney starts in midfield for England for the first time ever?
Jeez why do that now? If England don't do this there's gonna be knives out for Hodgson and Rooney. Personally I think England play better without Rooney.

Missed the first 20 mins, but we looked surprisingly good for the second 25. Russia barely having a kick.... final ball / shot just not quite coming off.

:| Some spectacular complacency from England at the end there showing their defensive frailties when the game was otherwise home and dry. Went completely missing for several long patches of the second half, after what appeared to be an extremely promising first half, but got the all important first goal. I thought Sterling was incredibly wasteful in general and incapable of making a good decision.

Wales look a good bet to win the group.

Hmmm, played well, didn't take chances and conceded sloppily... yeah I'll go with that.
