It's a bullshit format which has changed the dynamic of the tournament and resulted in midweek afternoon kick-offs in a Europe-only tournament [forcing people to take time off work to watch games]

Doesn't seem to have reduced the quality much though... the smaller nations have put in a strong showing so far. The afternoon games and sheer number in a day is a bit much though.

Wales and Republic of Ireland did pretty well.

I think Albania and Northern Ireland only losing by 1 each already decides it, so far at least. I'd have been expecting more comfortable victories for their opposition.

Agreed that having some third placed teams making it through is potentially a bit of an abomination.

Sadly Nani currently winning.

Gylfi probably should have scored his early chance and I think he failed to track his man leading to the cross for Nani's goal. Great save from Iceland to keep out Nani's earlier header and for supposedly the best player in the world that air kick was pretty poor from Ronaldo.

Can't help but feel Iceland are taking a big risk playing two up and having Gylfi in a two man central midfield... he's not really getting a chance to influence the game and his strengths aren't in defending.
