Danny Williams to Newcastle...

by TBM » 23 Jun 2016 09:52

Sunderland, Aston Villa and Swansea City are also said to be interested

Joy - we could be losing two of our central midfielders in a matter of days

Are you discounting the Norwood links or the Tishbola links then ?

We're at that stage of the year when every club is looking around at targets. And every club probably has dozens of names they are 'interested in'. Players will be disappointed if they don't appear somewhere because it would say they aren't much good.
Until deals are announced these 'club x is interested in player y' artcils are pointless. Most are hugely speculative if not verging on Leave levels of pure invention.

Would prefer to see Williams go than Tishbola, particularly after his spat with McShane

Has anyone put in a bid for Williams ?
Has anyone put in a serious bid for Tishbola ?
This supposed 'interest' is meaningless until there is an acceptable bid on the table. Until then stop worrying !!

Selling Williams to Newcastle is a brilliant move

We get money and can buy a better team-player
and Newcastle's squad is weakened

I am no fan of Williams and don't really care if he goes or not however we can't lose Tish as well.

It's all well and good looking for cheap bargains from around Europe but if the Thais think they can fill the team full of cheap players and unwanted players from Eastern European leagues then the drop is more than just a possibility next season.

Happy for him to go, one of the last Zingarevich era signings, so imagine he is on a hefty wage. doesn't offer much going forward doesn't offer much defensively, runs around like a headless chicken most of the time. Poor attitude hot headed.

A bad week for the club. Tragedy if this goes through. He's one of the only Prem quality players left at the club yet everyone here is welcoming it due to his hot-headedness.

You need a blend of attitude and player types in any team and he will be badly missed if this is true. Interest from a club the size of Newcastle and Aston Villa is an indication of his quality and that alone should be enough for you to know that he must stay at all costs.

He's not Prem quality - lacks too much of an end product to be that ...

His hot-headedness is fine with me and probably good for a ball winning midfielder. It's his inability to pass the ball and find a team mate, his inability to know when to release the ball and his inability to track runners that makes him a liability, therefore Newcastle are welcome to him!

Hope this one happens! Terrible attitude and a bad bad influence, not to mention being on crazy AZ wages. I can't wait for this ego to move on.

Good player but awful shooting and runs into too much trouble. Also spends half a game whining.

We need to streamline and sell to fund new players and Williams is the best candidate to go for decent money who we could easily do without replacing.
