Dr_Hfuhruhurr But realistically, we seem to be following the same model as Cardiff - i.e. absolutely bang average.

Cardiff have finished 8th, 9th and 11th in previous seasons, much better than us.

My mood has improved massively over the last week or so. As has been mentioned previously, anything above last season's depressing end will be good, but I'm getting good vibrations now. May be a tad optimistic, but I think we'll flirt with the Playoffs before she tells us to oxf*rd off.

First season at this level where I'll be happy if we just stay up.

Whisper it quietly but I have a good feeling with what is unfolding at Reading FC this summer.

From Despair To Where? Somewhere between 12th and 15th with maybe a minor flirtation with relegation, but being competitive against all comers. which will be a vast improvement on the last 2 years.

This but with added finishing the season stronger rather than tailing off into the same garbage that means yet another massive rebuild and new manager.

Me too. I don't think we'll go up, and getting in the play offs would be a bonus (although perhaps not with our record), but I think we could have a decent season this time round.

As much as I like him, I can't imagine feeling this positive if Brian was still here, sadly.

The signings so far this season are perhaps slightly less inspiring than last, but not by much. Carbon copy year for me.

A manager with no track record , a bunch of signings none of us have any knowledge of, a lot of unproven youngsters.
As much chance of making an accurate prediction on this one as a political opinion pollster !
I'm going for 8-12th, with a 4 place margin for error either way.
We may have a decent cup run too.

Risk of confusing 'expectations' with 'hopes' here.
Always good to keep expectations low. We know next to nothing about these new guys.
Better than last season will be enough for now.

I thought Nameless's post was a joke, to be honest. If you were seriously going to sit on the fence, surely you'd just say 4th-16th?

I'm quite pessimistic at present. Swift and Beerens could be good signings but I've never heard of any of the others. I'm going to reserve judgement on them.

Expectation: relegation battle. Hope: top half.

Ask me again after 10 games...

Things at the club have changed so much since the end of last season means that it's hard to tell. Stam's inexperience at managing will mean we miss out on promotion. Should have enough quality to avoid relegation, could all go horribly wrong though.
