blueroyals Was anything mentioned about the awful PA bloke in this meeting?

Ah you mean Mr Bavister. Regarded as one of the best in the country and chosen by the FA to cover Wembley fixtures!

No, don't think it was mentioned.

Only been to Wembley once and the PA announcer was awful, just blathered shit over the PA and killed the atmosphere instead of allowing it to develop organically. The sort of person who feels compelled to fill every second of silence with white noise. Most football fans will still favour a pie, a a pint and a chat with their mates as their pre match routine to some happy, clappy 110 decibels anodyne shit.

Second only to Allardyce era Bolton in the cringingly shit stakes.

You are very much a lone fish swimming against the tide on this one, Paul.

Not by the people whose opinion should be the one that matters.

It doesn't matter one jolt if he's "objectively" the best PA announcer in the universe. He's supposed to be making the match day better for Reading fans, and he's failing miserably. That's all that matters as far as Reading should be concerned.

Love is a strong word....

Do know of him. Decent guy actually. I agree with the stick he got early days, way over the top particularly the half time performance but I actually think his treatment and comments are a tad unfair and he has toned it down ten fold but stigma of him has remained.

I think it has toned down on here as well, certainly less comments about him (still the occasional one admittedly) and I agree he improved towards the end of last season.. We will see what he is like this coming Friday and then against Preston.

My experience at match days has been several around me swearing at him (verbally or with gestures) when he's talking - seen lots of grief on Twitter and Facebook for him too, as well as most on here.

I can safely say that you can probably extrapol8 it to large percentage being unhappy.

A centre back and a striker are the top 2 priorities apparently, although i would suggest a left back should be high on the priority list not to mention a right back if Gunter goes.
