Good old boy

by windermere_royal » 06 Aug 2016 17:55

So now rather than having staff from the west Berkshire brewery we have some pea brained good looking blondes in uniform serving the beer, result? a whopping 50P imcrease from £4.10 to £4,60 a pint.
All very well on a hot day like to today, but come the cold winter months, I for one will be giving it a miss big time.

Far too much for any beer, especially one in a plastic pot whilst stood around in an industrial park.

They tried their very best not to give me change from a fiver, I stood my ground and held up the queue. Sorry for those in it.

Definitely wont be returning at these prices unless it's over 25 degrees

Excellent news! Means we can get more families in the Stadium and less drunken hoodlums.

Delightful.

Despite today being wonderful all round from start to finish, some people still manage to moan about something. Bravo.

I didn't have to time to purchase a pint on Saturday but this may explain the fact that there was still beer available after the game

I liked the GOB last season. Had the London Pale Ale in the hotel prematch and have to say that was very nice too. Not sure what the cost was as it was purchased within a round but I'd definitely have it again.

Pea brained good-looking blondes win every time against most brewery staff!!

So just because everything else is wonderful people are meant to meekly accept such a massive price hike (it was hardly cheap in the first place) without saying anything?

It might be good beer but at £4.60 for a pint in a shitty plastic glass standing/sitting in the road, I shall be joining those saving their money for a decent pint at a fair price in much better surroundings.

I was only charged £4.10 last night for a pint so have they put the price back down again?

So was I, and I the lady who served me wasn't blonde, either. I did notice that the lager bar was charging £4.60.

In the stadium on Saturday Good Old Boy wasn't showing on their tills (at least to start with) so they were told to put it through as Carlsberg - I don't know if this is why it was more expensive on Saturday.
