Royal Ginger Is that 11 new players under Stam's time? (Aware Gravenberch may have been in the offing before). I don't think anyone can use the 'not his team' excuse we were giving McD.
Beerens
Blackett
Gravenberch
Harriott
Jaakkola
Maite
Mendes
Moore
Swift
Van Den Berg
Weiser
That's a whole team. Did I miss anyone?

The EP Reading FC’s transfer business is probably done for the summer, unless the “right” player becomes available.
That is the view of Royals' assistant boss Andries Ulderink - who believes the club’s transfer activity has all been wrapped up a week before the summer window closes on Wednesday.
He did, however, leave the door slightly open to further new arrivals.
Ulderink said: "For now, I think this will be it.
“There is a chance of a loan or a free signing, but only if the right player becomes available.
“If that happens, we may look at the squad but there won’t be players coming in tomorrow and it’s difficult signing players on the (deadline) day."

Mendes is the only one that puzzled me, not writing him off but surely we could have got someone with a better record of less than a goal every five games in the French second tier? Its probably about League Two level, and I'd rather we'd have got someone in with a proven record in League Two for instance.
.
You realise he played on the left wing for 75% of games last year before finishing the season up front?

But the point I was making was, its still a modest record for a forward player, and surely we could have got someone better?

Point doesn't stand tbh. You don't expect wingers to score lots of goals. He finished the season up front and averaged a goal every 1.4 games when playing there.

Depends what kind of winger we are talking about. You wouldn't expect a winger in a 4-4-2 formation to get that many goals, but a winger that is part of a front 3 you would.

RoyalJones As long as we sign another striker though I will be happy, if not, we're going to struggle

With Wednesday’s 11pm deadline looming large, they do not have much time to find a replacement - but getreading understands the club are working hard on other targets.
They are currently exploring two options, one is a loan deal while the other is a permanent. Talks are at an early stage but those behind the scenes are confident of beating tomorrow’s deadline.
