Nameless Bizarre claim that no one at the club saw anything in him.
Did he just wander into training one day and refuse to leave ?
We plucked him out of non league football because we saw some very raw talent. The circumstances for developing that weren't right at the time and he's hardly been an overnight sensation,
Presumably Weds and Forest missed his talent too as they also 'let him go'

Huge congratulations to Antonio for what he has achieved and to all his clubs from Tooting on who helped him progress.

Forest and Wednesday picked him, played him, first on team sheet..... wanted him / got good money for him.....

McDermott sadly never saw past his favourites.....

and repeat....

More likely Hammond's decision for him to go along with the player himself who made it crystal clear he was not going to sign a new contract. He was very raw at RFC and HNA mainly thought he was shit because he couldn't control a ball and his crossing was wayward (probably similar to Cooper at present time). Kebe and Mcanuff much more consistent and got us to the premier league.

Still pretty raw for Sheff Wed who really bigged him up and went up to the Championship with him and he then fell out with them and went to Forest. Three years after he left us he is looking the part at Forest and West Ham come in with 7 million.

Great example of a player who backed himself (like Moore with us).

Forest and Wednesday were shitter than us, not in the Premier League and didn't have Kebe, McAnuff and (at that point) McCleary. HTH.

Was he out injured for a while in his second season at Wednesday? Coz I'd expect the first name on the team sheet to make more than 28 appearances in a season.
