With the FA constantly bitching about corruption in FIFA - would look pretty hypocritical to have its national manager seemingly seeking to fill his boots via dodgy deals.

Well, even if he's done nothing illegal he certainly seems to be bringing the game and the FA into disrepute.

It would depend on what's in the contract, no?

It's BFS. The legal team want sacking if there isn't a watertight disrepute clause in the contract.

To think of all the corrupt goings on in English football with regards to the (not) fit and proper persons test, and basically every other club being used as a vehicle for foreign investors to launder their bent money. Which everyone knows is happening, but the FA and PL just turn a blind eye. And they hold an enquiry for something as trivial as this in comparison?

Hoop Blah It's more embarrassing than anything underhand but it also smacks of the media again trying to undermine the national team.

Why why why why why are the media intent on sabotaging the National team?! Two steps forward, ten steps back.

I watched the last match. Didn't notice the two steps forward tbh.

Big Fat Sam's pint of wine makes me think 12 steps might be more helpful to him.

FA are in real trouble - apparently 7 other managers have been stung.... expect AP, SB to be on that list so will be tarnished....

If Allardyce goes just put the call in for Shearer and be done with it.

Such a silly thing to say, of course they're not intent on sabotaging the national team.

Having said that it not half as silly as Jay's "Sam's done nothing wrong, rules exist merely for people to subvert them" nonce sense

After one game, you stupid Cnut. You are either very new to football, American or a female if you think any change can be made in one game having had them for training for about 5 days.

Sam is perfect for us with this current crop. No doubt about that. He will instil steel into them and a fighting spirit. Don't underestimate him tactically either.

Why are the media so intent on destroying our side? They'd be the first paper to celebrate should we have a great result in a major tournament. If Sam stays, they have lost their right to that now.

IMO he hasn't done much wrong, he quite rightly destroyed parts of the FA and the joke that was the previous regime. That should make people confident that he thinks Roya and Neville are a joke, it shows he knows that change is needed.

He also said to the reporters that they need to consult with the FA and didn't implicate himself at all. This would t have come about if he wasnt trapped by the journalists anyway.

Mildly embarrassing but no way should he lose his job.

With all that management experience, the constant sense he makes on match of the day and the fact that no club has ever wanted to take a punt on him, he would make a great England boss.

What a rediculous suggestion.

This isn't exactly the first dodginess to crop up around Alladyce is it.

The fact he's happy to openly criticise his employer, make fun of his predecessor, his staff and talk about how easy it is circumvent rather important rules for the industry he's involved in, seemingly offering no suggestion to do so would be wrong, isn't exactly what I'd expect from someone I were to employ.

How about, you're rich enough and well paid enough already, do your job, keep your gob shut and stop looking for ways to line your pocket.

Allardyce has gone by 'mutual agreement'

Exciting times in the Pardew household.

Rumours suggest he offered to resign.

Cue another circus on his replacement. Hoddle or Pardew for me.

So the first three mentions for replacements are:
Someone who hasn't had a management job for about a decade or so
Someone who didn't really succeed in senior management and is most associated with England for skying a penalty
And a former Reading FC manager

And they're to replace Fat Sam!

Christ England are in a dire situation.

Hilarious.

Wonder if there will be further sackings on the back of more allegations to be published under this investigation.

Exciting times!
