I was there for that one also.

Most surreal football match I have ever been to. Had we just lost 3-0 or 4-1 I would have been livid...but somehow 7-4 just didn't register. Walking back home after the game you got the sense that it was the same for the Pompey fans too (happy though they were to have won).

To a neutral, that 7-4 game (the highest scoring game in Premier League history and joint game with the most scorers) must be right up there with Man Utd beating Ipswich 9-0..... However, is it really worth celebrating? Even if we were neutrals?

I liked the positive comment from Coppell after the game "I don't think many teams will come here this season and score four"

Maybe if we hadn't missed that penalty things would have been different.

Yes, we'd have lost 7-5. Which reminds me of that game in Doncaster in about 1983 where we crashed 7-5 with Kerry Dixon scoring all 5 for us I believe.
