What is so wrong with that statement?

Betting means betting.

My objective is to bet my way to a grand. That involves placing bets.

It doesn't mean that I'm addicted. I am simply betting my way to a grand.

Because you did chase the loss by betting more. It was only better because you won. What if you lost?

I understand the point and why you think that. However, obviously I am going to be placing bets because that is the whole point of the challenge. I haven't been betting more, I was already betting a lot.

The difference was, I went off the rails a little bit betting on Barcelona because I stopped following the strategy. I got caught up in the moment. I was just £15 shy of £500 and due to the international break I felt that it would be harder to find selections for the next couple of weeks. I was looking for what I perceived to be the surest route to £500 and I thought laying Celta Vigo at long odds would get me the £500 by Sunday night and then I could relax for the international break and maybe have a break from betting.

Barcelona lost and it hit my account big time. I was p*ssed at myself for allowing that to happen and risking so much of my account on one bet. I wanted to do so many stupid things in the moment like put my whole account on red or black but actually what stopped me from doing that was having you all here at HNA to answer to. I could already feel the stick coming my way from Sanguine, Winston, Double D, Country Royal, if I did such a mental thing. So I just closed up my ipad and forgot about it and left it until the next day. Then on Monday, I just faced up to the reality that my account was now £318 and bet the way I would have done if my account was at that level. No chasing the losses, just back to betting as usual in the normal fashion.

So my betting activity since Monday was this:

Monday
Stuttgart v Greuther Furth - Laid Gruether - Won £35
Carpi v Pisa - Laid Carpi - Won £14
Santa Cruz v Palmeiras - Laid Santa Cruz - Won £21
Coritiba v America MG - Laid Coritiba - Lost £6.10

Tuesday
NorthEast Utd v FC Goa - Laid North East Utd - Lost £3.86
Sandecja Nowy Sacz v Chojniczanka Chojnice - Laid Chojniczanka Chojnice - Won £10.41
Varbergs BoIS v Assyriska - Laid Assyriska - Won £8
Solihull Moors v Southport - Laid Southport - Won £20
Portsmouth v Reading U23 - Laid Pompey - Won £22.73

Total recovered: £121.18
Recovered Balance to £438

New Bet for tomorrow:
Uzbekistan V Iran - Laid Uzbek for £30 to win £14

Current balance: £408

Top Flight They are well organised, difficult to break down and have some decent players that include Sardar who plays for Rostov and Dejagahn once of Fulham.

How many Iran national team games have you watched?

You're addicted.

Doesn't take much research to see how corrupt and how much match fixing goes on in Iranian football.

Why would you risk your cash on a league like that??

It's currently Uzbekistan 0 Iran 1.

They are half an hour in to the game.

I've decided to cash out at half time just in case Winston is right and the Iranians have taken money to throw the game in the second half.

My Betfair is now £473.

I'm still £10 short of my position prior to the Barcelona bet gone wrong, but I have made a strong recovery. The Barcelona mistake has set me back a week. But it's alright. Overall, I'm in pretty good shape. This is the second best position my Betfair has been in since I started this challenge.

By the end of September I was supposed to be at £274 to be on track. Just six days in to October, I am on £473. By the end of October my target was £329 and my end of November target was £395. Right now, I am where I was supposed to be at the end of December which is £474. So this is all looking good.

I have no bets currently open, apart from Donald Trump to win the election. I will try to figure out a couple of good bets in tonights matches to see if I can keep pushing the account forward.

When you get to the grand, stick it all on black.

I've heard because the colour black absorbs heat it affects the surrounding magnetic field and the roulette balls are more attracted to it.

I think targets work against you in trading....

You have to totally disregard them. The only thing,
is taking advantage of opportunities as they arise.

I also don't think there is anything wrong with
the quantity of betting you are undertaking,
you're just not managing it in the best way.

Thanks for your constructive feedback Brosef.

Tonight I laid Spain and Austria. The account has now surpassed the £500 mark for the first time. Current balance is £508.

Today could have been even better. I cashed out early on four games to miss out on a lot more profits. And there were two other games I was planning to bet on but I chickened out.

Account has slipped back to £491 after losing two out of three overnight bets.

Internacional beat Coritiba so I lost £8
Colombia beat Paraguay so I lost £19
Argentina drew with Peru so I won £12

This morning I'm laying Melbourne Victory in their A League season opener away to Brisbane Roar.

Morning all - no French league 2 tonight... What am I going to do!!

I was about to post my Australian A league tip then see Top Flight above!!

Anyway, for those who have a couple of quid in account and want to build funds put it on a Melbourne victory and a BTTS, paying around 4/1. Trust me it would not be them odds in 4 games time!

Paul, I think you may be right.

I have cashed out my bet before kick off for a 16p profit and have switched sides. I am now laying Brisbane.

It's been a strong opening ten minutes from the Victory. They look a lot sharper than Roar.
