Congratulations Double D. Congratulations for getting married and congratulations for winning so much money in the casino and knowing when to quit while you're ahead.
I've been betting like a stupid gambler in the last few days. Not pleased with myself. I'm going to take a breather tonight and just enjoy the Villa game without any bets on.
My account has slumped to £448 after reaching a high point of £644. As I was getting closer to my £1000 target, I seemed to lose patience and try to push hard and get the job done quickly but I lost some big bets and nearly blew the entire account. This is how my strongest position almost turned to total disaster in the space of one weekend.
I had reached a high point of £644 by Thursday night, then Friday morning I lost £67.84 when Western Sydney Wanderers battled back from a goal down to win 2-1 with an injury time winner at Adelaide United. So now, I was in a situation where I was chasing back. I recovered £13 when Kerala Blasters beat Mumbai City and another £10 with Covilha beating Freamunde in the Copa Del Rey.
Then I had £50 down in favour of Monaco in their match away to Toulouse. Monaco took an early lead and were cruising, but a second half fightback from Toulouse saw them take the game 3-1 and I was down another £50 and chasing back even more.
So the following bets were placed and the fightback was on...
Sonderjyske v Viborg - Lay Viborg - Won £14
Cracovia Krakow v Wisla Plock - Lay Wisla - Won £10 (Denniss Rakels old team did the biz for me in this one)
Bochum v SV Sandhausen - Lay Sandhausen - Won £12
Arminia Bielefeld v Wurzburger Kickers - Lay Bielefeld - Won £20
But then bang again - Birmingham City couldn't see off Forest and I got smacked with another £51 loss. Everytime I got close to catching up I got smacked again with another big loss.
Las Palmas v Espanyol - Lay Espanyol - Won £30
Cardiff V Bristol City - Lay Bristol - Won £28
Atletico GO v Paysandu - Lay Paysandu - Won £25
Then smack Melbourne Victory v Melbourne City - Lay City LOST £60
Genclerbirligi v Galatasaray - Lay Genclerbirgli - Won £5.24
Betis v Real Madrid - Lay Betis - Won £20
Newcastle Jets v Brisbane - Lay Newcastle - Lost £19.60
Perth v Wellington - Lay Phoenix - Won £26.31
Huddersfield v Sheff Wed - Lay Huddersfield - Won £23.50
Fiorentina v Atalanta - Lay Atalanta - Won £20
We're in to Sunday now (four games above were played on Sunday) and this is where things got a bit mental.
Union Berlin v Hannover - Lay Berlin - Lost £40
Middlesbrough v Watford - Lay Boro - Won £10
Inter v Cagliari - Lay Cagliari - Lost £190 WHACK
I still had £400 on account at this point so was fighting back again.
Mainz v SV Darmstadt - Lay Darmstadt - Won £20
Athletic Bilbao v Sociedad - Lay Soc - Won £25
Southampton v Burnley - Lay Burnley - Won £20
Sporting Gijon v Valencia - Lay Sporting - Won £22
Got back to near £600 - I was constantly losing and fightback to get close to where I was and then losing again. This is where things really went down hill.
Internacional v Flamengo - Lay Inter - Lost £87
Chievo v AC Milan - Lay Milan - Lost £40
Montreal Impact v Toronto FC - Won £44 - Last minute equaliser from Toronto recovered my account to £417.
So it's now 10 pm Sunday night, it had been a rollercoaster of a betting weekend. There was just one game left to go, it was Colorado Rapids going for the MLS supporters shield away to Portland Timbers who possess the best home record in MLS. I had seen my account destroyed from £644 to now be on £419. I wanted a recovery so I went big on this game. Portland Timbers who were outside of the play off positions were strong favourites and priced at 1.79 to win this match. Western Conference leaders Rapids, going for the title were outsiders at 5.6. I thought, Kevin Doyle and Co will fight for this one, they want the title and Doyle, my Reading FC hero is going to do the business for me and help me recover my account. It was a must win for the Timbers to get into the play-offs and Rapids needed to win to position themselves for a title win. I laid the Portland Timbers at 1.79 with a stake of £158 to win £200 if the Colorado Rapids could win or draw at Providence Park.
If the bet went my way, I would have recovered to £617 and would have put this nonsense down to experience. If Rapids lost, my account would have been battered down to £259. Unfortunately the Timbers did win, They won a penalty that was incorrectly awarded and won the game 1-0. Kevin Doyle twice hit the woodwork but luck wasn't on my side. My account was devastated.
Last night, I began a new recovery. Liverpool V Manchester United. I went all in, my entire account on this one game. I laid Liverpool at a price of 2.3, I put £258 on the game to win £199 if United win or draw.
My account was now down to just 60 pence. This was the £450 game. It ended nil nil so my account has now recovered, minus the betfair commissions to £448.64
I won't be betting tonight. I need to take some time out to think about what the f*ck I'm doing. Because that latest round of betting was pure stupidity and madness and I managed to lose control once again on the betting fields. I don't know what the hell is wrong with me. I was following a strategy and then completely lost my discipline and composure. I need to take stock before I go again and think about my strategy again and get back to doing this the right way.
