Its Friday - can only mean one thing - its all about French League 2.

Cant believe some of the odds today.... anyway... I will do a number of £1 BTTS trebles but the main bets are:

Brest
Valenciennes

BTTS Win £5 pays £220

Also....

Brest
Valenciennes
Le Harve

Plain win treble - £5 pays £63 - just shocked at the odds of the first 2 games....

Good luck everyone.

Gone for that first double, PTR. Brest's opponents have only scored 6 goals so far which may well have pushed the odds up. Done £2 for a £77 win

Also did a £2.50 Brighton, Rochdale & Everton treble for a £27.71 win.

I then had £3 left in my account so placed my first ever horse racing bet, won it and had £15 back in my account.

So I have done £5 on Monaco, Wurzburg & Düsseldorf tonight for a £31 win

&

Newcastle, Plymouth & West Ham £5 treble for a £26 win.

I usually do 1 small football bet a week so this is me in overdrive.

Nice work! What horse did you back? Are you hooked now? Shall we go to Newbury races tomorrow?

Marracudja at 2:45 at Cheltenham. Was genuinely nervous betting on the horses. I usually do a fun bet on football a week, I felt like I was taking my first step towards being a full blown addict!!

Newbury? Surely only Vegas could contain such high rollers as you and I? Amirite?!!

Not a lot of change and not a lot of bets either. Edged up to £477 yesterday and then edged up again to £505 today only betting on Ingolstadt not to beat Dortmund when they were already leading 1-0. It finished level.

In William Hill shop bet so unfortunately no. It doesn't matter I won few today :)

I don't use any betting sites at all (first it was because to me it seemed way to easy just to deposit money and keep betting and then after watching TF I am deffo staying clear from them). I have never used cash out and I think coral bet slips have the option to log in online and do it.

Well, I'm up to £524 today. So £484 in profit so far and on course. Maybe loads of betting isn't such a bad thing. Having said that I have calmed down considerably this past week. Today, again only 1 bet placed. I laid Southampton to win £20. I'm being a lot more selective now.

I nearly laid Chelsea off today. I placed a bet but it wasn't matched then it suddenly ocurred to me that Chelsea's players probably hate Mourinho and would bust a gut to beat him so I cancelled my bet before someone matched it and I left it alone. Phew.

I still don't understand laying and matching. TF please teach me.

Well done for showing restraint after your stupid betting last week.

You're asking advice from someone who doesn't bet because he thinks Hazard is motivated by 'hating Mourinho'?

On 'layig and matching', TF is just using the BetFair exchange to make 'lay' bets, where you bet against a team, rather than backing a team to get a result.

On BetFair you can set your own odds (for Back or Lay bets) - so if you want to Lay Chelsea, but the shortest odds are, say, 1.80, you can place a Lay bet at 1.70, and the bet is only live if those odds are 'matched' by someone willing to back Chelsea at 1.70.

I see now. Basically you are betting on 2 outcomes rather then just the win of Chelsea..... so what is liability then ? How come TF bets 190 to win 50 extra? That seems extreme to win hardly any money.

Basically he is the bookie. For example you place a bet for £10 at 10/1, TF could accept that bet and put £100 up to win your £10. Does that make sense?

You are 'the bookie' - so your liability is your chosen stake multipled by your chosen odds, and your potential winnings are only ever the stake of the person who matches your bet.

So if you lay Chelsea at 1.60 for a stake of £20, your potential winnings are £20, and your liability is (20 x 1.60) £32.

TF bets £190 for a profit of £50 because he's an idiot. But it's his money, it's a high risk strategy, and fair play it has worked (to some extent, so far).

Most people who regularly make Lay bets look for value in the price of favourites. A really good example from a few seasons back would be Liverpool at home - almost always odds-on and under-priced, they were great value to Lay at, say, 1.60 to beat a mid-table team at home, when true odds (based on their form) were probably closer to 1.80-1.90 . Relatively low liability.

TF is taking the opposite and less thoughtful approach (no offence, TF) - essentially, for example, he sees Las Palmas priced at 4.0, thinks 'it's Barcelona, of course they'll win', and starts counting his £50 profit, for a liability of £200. Which is how he has got in a mess the last couple of weeks.

In the above example my liability would be £12 not £32. I'd be risking £12 in order to win £20. The payout would be £32. Whoeever won the bet would be paid out £32. So if I won as the layer, it would be my liability of £12 plus my winnings of £20. If the backer won, he would win his initial stake of £20 and his winnings of £12. The £12 being my liability.
