harry Leroy Lita for the winner v 'Boro & the overhead v Palace?

No, because he was a c**t of a man. Wouldn't even make it near my top 20.

Agree he was a waste of space.

I guess that's fair enough as the thread is "favorite" player

that does read as though, despite being a cnut, he would be just outside the top 20

SCIAG
grey_squirrel
SCIAG Players eligible for neither side: Al-Habsi, De La Cruz, Karacan, Kebe (?), Hurtado, Seol, Husin + the Korean kids. Only need one more to get us to a full team (four more if you don't include kids who never played for us). Anyone I'm missing?

Naseem Bashir

----------------Al-Habsi--------------------
Kebe----------Della-----------------Kim
---------Nam---Karacan--Bashir-----
Hurtado---------------------------Husin
--------------Ji--------Seol------------------

League appearances:
Kebe 175
Karacan 155
Al-Habsi 42
Seol 30
De La Cruz 15
Hurtado 5
Others 0

Terrible side. Hope Al-Habsi catches it, he throws it to Kebe who runs the length of the pitch and hopes something happens.

De La Cruz scored my favourite Reading goal of all time.
In the 3-1 v Sheff U where he ran the length of the pitch from left back to right wing & Gillespie got sent off within about 6 seconds then Wally took issue with Colin's reaction & they both got sent of.

Edelston & Brice My first thought was definitely Shaka - then I remembered Paul Canoville.

There are only three answers for this....

1. Shaka
= 2. Kebe, Gilkes

With a special mention to Keith Mcpherson (a limited legend), Mass Sarr (he had a rare Lexus Soarer car) and Ronnie Blackman (obviously).

Forbury Lion My favorite players are my favorite players - I'm not going to put them on separate lists based on skin colour as it's irrelevant.

Hear hear !
It's a oxf*rd travesty that someone's colour matters
Next it'll be your favourite LBGT player or Ginger etc..

Lita for me, loved him when he was here. My second RFC hero, Curo was the first.

Thought he was a more talented player/goalscorer than Doyle, even Kitson, which was probably true, he just didn't show it enough.

Those saying he was a pcunt/idiot off the field are probably the same people that worship Friday. Or maybe they're not, and just need to lighten up a bit.

Tbf mate a lot of us who worship Friday were 10 years old when we watched him. Just like the "best black player" thing depends on when you started going to games. At a guess, fans of Leroy Lita probably weren't born when old gits like me were watching Andy Alleyne and Stevie Richardson. It's not a big deal - it's just an age thing.

I wouldn't blame you either way, I'm sure I would have too had I been around back then. And considering I wasn't much older than 10 when we signed Lita and I was watching him, you certainly have a point.

I was just making the point that you can't dismiss Lita purely for his off the field behaviour whilst condoning Friday's. But just to clarify I like people like those guys, they're different and therefore more interesting.
