Probably not at the moment but they do have some outstanding youngsters like Jon Flanagan (currently on loan at Burnley) & Trent Alexander-Arnold and Ben Woodburn from the U23s.

I clicked on a link in an article about Woodburn to read about an old piece of news about an Academy wage cap that Liverpool had introduced for 17 year old first year professionals.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2016/10/12/liverpool-introduce-youth-wage-cap-to-halt-too-much-too-young-cu/

I thought that sounds a pretty bold but good thing to do, and it turns out Spurs and Southampton are doing something similar, but the amazing thing is that the CAP is £40,000 per week basic. Yes, that's a salary cap of £2m per year for a 17 year old, and that's not even taking into account bonuses on top of that!!!

That is just obscene. £400/week at 17 should be more than enough.

Yeah. One game against a poor Leeds side and they're outstanding.

I don't think that single game is the basis by which Woodburn is considered a great prospect.
Same logic that Loftus-Cheek was compared to Michael Ballack after his Chelsea debut.

In the current climate we should probably avoid Chelsea's youth policy tbf

John Barnes and Peter Beardsley, mainly. Brilliant players.

So, Loftus-Cheek?

Genuinely sad by that, Liverpool have been the best team I have seen in PL so far

Have to say that I am amazed that Liverpool keep finding dreadful goalkeepers from somewhere. Since Reina their choices for a keeper have been bizarre at best and just not what a supposed top 4 team in the PL should be investing in.

Add to that their continued insufficient cover in central defence and you can see why they'll continue to struggle to actually win anything.
