Mr Optimist
genome Why?

We don't own a stake in the club, all we do is buy their product

But are you able to buy a comparable or alternative product instead? No, that is the point.

Many people are devoted and loyal to many brands, but I can't see them needing to know the exact goings on at board level unless they had a physical stake in how it operates. All they care about is receiving a good product.

Whether we know things, or not, it won't influence what decisions are going to be made, so you might as well not worry about it. If it starts to affect the football on show (ie the product), then you have a right to be concerned.

I don't think you get what a fan is all about-we don't just "buy the product" in the way that you buy one brand one week and another the next.
We are branded for life and often for most it is far from being the best buy.
I wish , in this country,we had a stake in our clubs as with Barcelona.
I gather that Mrs May's latest populist bandwagon is to push for more employees to be on the board of their employer so maybe she will advocate fans' board representation especially for her local League club.

I'm surprised to see Lady Sasima jumping ship so quickly.

I thought unstoppably she burned within?

She can get a cream for that, Canesten I think it's called.

It would have been too obvious for her to write a song about her undying love of the gravel car park next to the stadium though.

Can I be the first to say Dai Yongge, Dai Yongge, can't you see the writing on the wall? (RIP Ronnie James Dio)

Although nobody else has. So what do we deduce?

The BBC has worded it wrongly or got it wrong I suspect.

In any case, if he were judged not fit and proper so recently, how has he suddenly redeemed himself?

Maybe the PL and FL have different standards over the 'fit and proper' persons test?

Very concerned that the club/ stadium is being split from the immediately adjacent land and re-development transport plans. Not a recipe for smooth running, I'd have thought.

And if the Thais are holding the land what is the Chinese's financial motivation for buying the club - same as the fella at Villa, Wolves etc - get in the Prem I suppose?

That they were going to spunk their hard earned cash on a middle of the road football club and become life-long die hard fans?

Or Charles Watts got it wrong. The "other consortium member" that supposedly failed the FPPT was never identified (to my knowledge) nor whether he/she was involved in the RFC takeover or why they failed the test.

Exactly. I get the analogy but it's a stretch at best. No other "business" that you utalise for your needs have the same emotional pull that the club you support will have.

Of course it's different.

why?

im emotionally attached and loyal to Sweeney and todds and the after dark club.
I have no wish to see some weekly statement from the owners of either,

they said what their plans were at the start, and they have given us several updates since.
I get updates on the football side of things from the manager and the DOF
and I get the financials from the accounts on a yearly basis.

any thing more than that is pointless overkill

I was being deliberately obtuse to show my agreement with Brendy.

Do you even hobnob?

Aren't Madrid and Barcelona ruled by dictatorial millionaires who spend huge sums getting 'elected' on the basis of promising the earth. Not sure how much the fans actually have to say in how the clubs are run. Isn't the key difference that what we call season tickets they call memberships, but they are essentially the same thing.

The only difference between a football club and a "normal" business is that the "customers" of the football club sometimes think they're entitled to know exactly what is going on behind the scenes because they sometimes cheer and sometimes abuse the club's employees

Oh, and a football club can apparently run despite losing money year on year

A. none of that is reason for more regular updates from owners

B. May has backtracked on that commitment

other than endlessly epeating the same thing, im no sure what people want from thm.

they came in, said they wanted to develop the land, and would stabilise the club, but wouldnt be able to bank roll it indefinitely so were open to new investment, and if it wasnt forthcoming would probably have to sell up.
until somethiing in that statement changes, why would they keep repeating it?
