Sutekh I would take him back here like a shot, think he's better option than vdb

However I would be surprised if he is even on Stam's radar

Have a feeling he's going to pitch up at another Championship club though this month

For the record he's doing his badges and would presume he's therefore looking to coach/manage once he's finished in the game

Finished in the game? He's what, 26 or 27? Can't hurt to plan ahead though.

Looking at his twitter, it implies he is home, i.e. London. I am not reading much in to the change in profile other than he might be cut adrift at Gala.

I'd have him back though, if he has the required fitness still.

Could see it making a lot of sense to offer him a pay as you play deal until May with a review after that.
If he can still perform he would be a very good addition to the squad.
He will obviously be on Stam's radar, these days club's know about every player and you can bet they know about Jem. Whether they see him as a good option would be another matter.

Longer term you wonder whether he'd make a good Academy coach...

Loan move to the end of the season with view to a perm would probably make the most sense

Changing his profile picture to an old action shot of him in a Reading shirt though?

Only thing I read from that is he is no longer at Gala, which your link above testifies too. Don't get me wrong, I'd like him back too, but not sure we can quite draw that conclusion just yet.

Yeh maybe wishful thinking. Check out the above links though, looks like he has been released from his contract. Would explain the sudden changes on his twitter profile.

He can fcuk off for all i care. Had the chance to stay but opted to leave as he thought the grass was greener on the other side.

He doesn't actually give us anything that we don't already have

Listen to the interview & you will hear his perspective. Having players play for the club that actually support the club, are very rare.

@ 2 hours long you're gonna have to point me to the time he says it?! :)

In short, club offered him a new deal on much less money. There were some negotiations and before they reached a conclusion, Gala offered him a 3 year deal or good money. Being of Turkish descent and his dad being a Gala fan he felt he couldn't turn it down.

The club did make a counter offer that was only for a year which he said if the club had offered that first off he would have signed but it came down to a simple choice between a 1 year and a 3 year deal so he chose the security offered by the 3 year deal. Seems pretty fair to me.

Anyway, could do a job for us esp. if we lose a midfielder this window. Don't think we'll see him back though.

Never felt he could be criticised for giving the Gala move a go, huge family pride in playing for them and a significant step up for him. Also not too surprised it didn't work out and it's a shame that a combination of injuries and the move have cost him a huge chunk of his career.
He'll be determined to make up for lost time, and don't doubt someone will offer him a deal. Would be ironic if it was Leeds....in several ways.

I believe it was an emoji house with a smiling face next to it, which can clearly ONLY mean that he's returning to Reading FC and couldn't be anything to do with him about to go balls deep in his Mrs.

If his contract has been cancelled then he is in that position where he can wait until the transfer window closes this month then he could become more in demand due to teams missing out on someone

Given his history and contacts with Reading FC I wouldn't be surprised to see him come back to train with the club.

Whether he ends up back at RFC in a playing capacity then only Stam can answer that.

There's nothing quite like feeling you're the last man standing and a choice of desperation. Does wonders for your self confidence apparently.
