Victor Meldrew What surprised me was that we didn't start the game in the way that we start every game just playing keep-ball.
That might have given our players a bit of confidence rather than just kicking the ball way and waiting for the onslaught.
Could somebody please tell Gunter that he is allowed to tackle or am I asking too much of a full-back?

Why pick him out? Got in as many as Liam Moore, and more than the rest of the defence.

Edit - Stats from whoscored.com in case you're wondering

Probably because it's him that's fcuking backing off people all the time.

Right. Because he got in more tackles and blocks than the rest of the defence by backing off the whole time. Clever how he managed that.

Wonderful. Perhaps he could've started doing it before going two down.

Who cares? It's done. Jaap will be wiser and we have QPR to play in the more important side of our 2017 business.

Just glad it's over

More correctly because he's f*cking off a few people who have adopted him as the club's latest scapegoat and focus on trying to identify every single mistake he makes, whilst ignoring all the good stuff he does and the mistakes made by others.

Can't just keep shrugging it off as him being a scapegoat and expecting that to just excuse him.

There's a reason why his international manager plays him in a formation that lessens his defensive responsibility.

Gunter was poor today. I like him but him and Blackett were dreadful first up and it cost us the game

Personally just think we look much better 3-5-2 and use both Gunter and Obita's attacking talents rather than highlight the fact they aren't the best defensively

I'd sacrifice Beerens from the first 11 to play it

Well, at least we aren't Ipswich.

He's no where near as bad as some people make out, but he is a weak link defensively. He's ok. Nothing more.

Time and again during the game he backed off and positioned himself so the attacker could go either way. He needed to be showing players like Martial outside. Force them to the byline and if they go for the cross try to block it, if they get it in fair enough. But almost every time he allowed them to cut back inside, turning him inside out and allowing shots straight on goal, dangerous balls into the box or balls back to breaking midfielders our midfield were struggling to track.

To be fair, he was far from alone in that. And at least he was usually in position to not do much defensively, whereas Blackett seemed to often be looking lost in midfield when an attack came down his flank.

He's hardly at fault for our loss, so singling him out as particularly at fault is silly. But it's just yet another sign that he's nowhere near good enough for a team with Premier League ambitions. He's too soft. He's fine for mid-table Championship, or with top players around him a promotion push, but we need much better if we want to get anywhere seriously.

Dick Habbin's hairdo Evans, a Citeh fan, telling Rooney where he can stick his shirt..... PMSL.

TBH it just comes across as a bit ignorant
Evans acquired the shirt in the tunnel afterwards. No snub.

So we're going to debate how crap we were over 90 minutes against world beaters ManU. Who gives a f*ck

We should be glad it's now all over and be more concerned about Jan signing and pushing on in the Champ.

What would you sooner be happy with an FA Cup run or promotion to the premiership?

We were never going to win today not without McShane :D

Royal Rother Watson.

I would personally have him in the team, but I'm aware I'm biased against Gunter.

He definitely needs a few more games this season. Then he can be a regular in our title win next season. :)

Gunter was up against Martial

When Martial is in form he pretty much always
breezes passed the first defender like they're
not even there.

Lols at 'just show him the outside and block the
cross'. He's too quick, would just have run around
Gunter....4fs
