Sutekh SCIAG - None of the youngsters look like immediate options as out-and-out strikers
Looking back it would seem the one position the Academy struggles to fill with any quality is a striker. Since the days of Tommy Burns I can only recall Simon Cox and Darius Henderson (he's playing for Eastleigh and 35 now
) and Reading seemed shift them out as soon as they could. I'm expecting Samuel to go the same way and have similar success playing for other teams.
Don't think there's anyone of the older youngsters who is likely to seize an opportunity either.
Erm are you forgetting the mighty Simon Church? Nathan Tyson also has nearly 200 appearances at this level (and is still playing for Kilmarnock at 34
).
I was mostly talking about the Novakovich/Cardwell/Smith group rather than Loader/House/Green/Nolan. The first group just don't have the quality imo (although might be OK in a front two) while the second group might be good enough in a few years but aren't banging the door down yet.
We've got a lot of floaty forwards like Tanner, Barrett, Frost, and Holsgrove who look pretty useful but aren't competing with Kermie.
