As I'm working on playoff final day, today was a bad result. On the plus side we probably won't get that far.

What a great pity you will miss out on seeing us finally overcome our playoff jinx and win at Wembley!

On the plus side, I will probably be driving a decent number of Royals fans to or from London.

From Despair To Where? To be honest, even if we'd lost today, fans of Wednesday and Fulham would still be looking at our remaining fixtures and thinking that their game on the last day is winner takes all.

Reading Fulham's fans site they are so confident that they want us to make the play offs as they think they would breeze past us. Possibly based on the performances between us this season and the recent capitulations at Craven Cottage, but we have the class if we turn up. They all think, or at least prior to 3pm, that we would be the team to drop out of the top six.

I think they should be more worried about getting in the top six first.

I think our "unpredictability coupled with our "bouncebackability" will get us through to the play-off pinacle this time.

God help us next season if we actually do.

I think we will get promoted this season through the playoffs.

The reason I think this is that:

1) if we don't get promoted I wouldnt be too bothered or disappointed (of course if we do I will go mental)
2) I don't think we're quite the finished article

So I think we will beat Leeds

In the final we will beat Huddersfield 2-0

I agree and I have a horrible feeling that the play-offs this year have Leeds written all over them! Sky will obviously be hoping for Leeds v Wednesday final.....

What's Leeds' run in like? Is it too much to hope that they somehow miss out?

Wolves, Burton, Norwich, Wigan.

They'll get in. It's obvious we're going to meat each other in the semis anyway. One of those written in the stars things after our "rivalry" this season

Wolves, Burton, Norwich, Wigan

Can't see them imposing enough to dropout of the playoffs, also confident we would beat them over 2 legs

bobby1413 I'm interested to hear how Grabban performed today. The impression I got was he wasn't well thought of, so it would be good to see if he did prove people wrong today (penalty aside)

Just looked at the bottom of the table; didn't realise how close to the bottom three that Birmingham have fallen :o

We could have a couple of tough fixtures in the last 4 with Forest and Burton both scrapping for survival. Would prefer a couple of mid-table, flip flops already on teams (like Villa yesterday)

Indeed. It's been such a weird season that I wouldn't be surprised if we managed to top it off by winning the playoffs, something we've never done before...

Huddersfield - Derby (A), Fulham (H), Wolves (A), Birmingham (A), Cardiff (H)
Reading - Rotherham (H), Forest (A), Wigan (H), Burton (A)
Leeds - Wolves (H), Burton (A), Norwich (H), Wigan (A)
Wednesday - QPR (A), Derby (H), Ipswich (A), Fulham (H)
Fulham - Villa (H), Huddersfield (A), Brentford (H), Wednesday (A)

Don't see Fulham getting two points more than Wednesday or three more than Leeds

Us vs Yorkshire in the play offs

I think if we can dig out a win tomorrow then that will be job done pretty much and a top 6 place secured.

Leeds are pretty much there with their games. I expect a couple more goals from Wood and wins for them from Wolves and Norwich at home and Burton and Wigan away. I think they might get 3 wins actually.

Sheffield Wednesday are in the driving seat for 6th although QPR is never an easy ground to visit with that tight pitch. I think they might find it hard there to get the crosses in and could actually see them dropping points. Derby are a really good side on their day and their players are playing for their futures and again I could see Derby nicking something. Weds will beat Ipswich though. That Fulham game anything could happen but I can see it being a situation where Wednesday need to win or draw and Fulham need a win.

Fulham should win on Monday if Villa put in that showing that they did against us. I expect Huddersfield will beat them at the John Smith's though and that Brentford game is a hard one being a local derby. Plus we've seen how good Brentford can be. Brentford have won there a couple times recently as well. It may even be all over before the final day.

In truth, win tomorrow and we can relax. Draw or lose and we need to win one of our last 3 games which could turn out to be very tricky ones. It's between Weds and Fulham though now and no one else.

On another note, I think Burton may be the ones who will fall through the trap door.

I've been pretty relaxed about it for a while.

Agree about Burton.

If tomorrow brings a Reading win against Rotherham, a defeat for Fulham and no more than a point for Sheffield Wednesday it will all but mathematically confirm Reading a play off place, while a defeat for both means it is mathematically certain....
