Yes there was, for which we got fined. Promotion merits a pitch invasion. Winning the league merits a pitch invasion. Cup win. That's it.

I'm not a pitch invasion snob. At some county cricket games you can just go for a stroll on the pitch after the match, or even during tea or whatever.
Just let people on the bloody turf if they want to go on.

What's the best pitch invasion you've been involved in, Green?

everybody buckle in....this'll be some tale

The Informant The best one was the one against Palace when Uri Geller tried hypnotizing everyone

Wasn't the hypnosis one Burnley at home where their player got sent off and everyone showed him the red card?

I was on the pitch after Palace

Maybe I struggle to remember.

Uri was definitely on the tannoy during the Palace pitch invasion though. He got so much abuse that he never appeared at Elm Park again.

too pissed celebrating to remember the details but I think my first was a relegation. We were on the pitch in front of the North Stand (at Elm Park for the benefit of younger nobbers) waiting for a result to come in from Leyton Orient (possibly just Orient then). Anyway, the result went against us and we went down.

The protest one after a 3-0 defeat by ?Port Vale? (Bullivant?) was another . There had been much "on the pitch" chanting from the southbank, but at full time it was woman from the southbank/tilehurst end corner who led the charge, sprinting on followed by her son and husband, then sat down on the centre spot. A teenage girl steward tried courageously to stop me as i clambered over the southbank wall - I think I just said something like "oh come on - everyone's going on the pitch, don't be silly". I think the picture in Rusty Tin to Shiny Plastic is that game, and I'm in it.

and today we are back at Wembley...

1st. Away to Cambridge Utd 1976
2nd. Home to Crewe 1976
3rd. Away to Port Vale 1979 well almost but a copper put a truncheon across my face as I tried to scale the wall with Port Vale fans giving it the big one to us on the pitch in front of the away end. Remember it sleeting and then sunshine at the end.

Nameless
Sutekh Loads. All the celebration ones since about 1979 and also the aftermath of the debacles v Notts Co in '89, Port Vale in '98 etc. Sure there's probably more as well.

Do you think the fans invaded the pitch to celebrate promotion in 1926 or just politely applauded and not realise the club had been promoted until the local press mentioned it a week or two later?

Many would have previously invaded France, Belgium and Germany so I would suspect wandering on to the Elm Park pitch would have seemed a little tame.

Germany was never invaded in WW1.

Winston Biscuit sketchy memory but I am going with:

Home to Brighton 1994
Home play off Vs Tranmere 1995
Last ever match at Elm Park
Home play off vs Wigan 2001
Title win 05/06
Title win 11/12
Thinking we had made the play offs 13/14

forgot about Bradford, and I was one of the first on last night (on Liam Kelly's back just after the final whistle!) so I am now up to 9

Maybe Wembley can be my La Decima?!

Weirdest one was the Pitch invasion at the Mad Stad after the Brentford v Reading away game where everyone watching it on TV in the East Stand ran on the pitch.
