For those who appreciate home matches evenly spaced out the list isn't terrific.

5 x with over a fortnight between home games, rising to 28 days at one point.
5 x two home games in 3/4 days

and for the purists / old-timers just the 5 x 14 days traditional routine.

WTF - Sunderland? hahaha now thats a shit hole. Who wakes up one morning and decides to go to Sunderland?

Every time a worst town survey comes up, Sunderland is near the top.

tidus_mi2 I guess that also means we will have played Fulham for two consecutive home fixtures, that surely doesn't happen very often.

Only if you ignore the Gillingham game.

We also played Preston in two consecutive home fixtures with the last game of the 15/16 season and the first of last season.

Excellent! Every season I hope for a short trip to Ashton Gate on Boxing Day and here it is. Couldn't be better.

It's obviously too early to gel as undoubtedly some of the teams we expect to do well won't and there will be some surprise packages but the start and run in look pretty tough, especially the latter.

3 London away games before October is sweet though, Fulham away should be fairly warm too 8)

+1

No trains so little alcohol. Couldn't have been a worse day.

Will suit most of our fans though.

Only missing 1 home game this year because of cricket 8)

Only one I am slightly annoyed with is Bolton away on a Tuesday night, guy I play cricket with is a Bolton fan, Saturday would've made it easy to go.

Top Flight Hands off our opening game away to QPR Sky Sports. I don't want you moving it. The first Saturday of the season on a hot August day away to QPR is a game that I am definitely looking forward to. Don't ruin it Sky.

Good shout but I think we're ok as they are showing Sunderland v Derby on the Friday night .

Yep. Good news. I'm already looking forward to this season now. It's going to be some ride. For me it starts on July 22nd away to Wealdstone. I'm surprised the Reading FC website hasn't announced any friendlies yet. Some have clearly been arranged.

Wouldn't get too excited about this game, I believe the main squad are meant to be flying back from Holland on 22nd July so I would imagine this friendly is going to be for youngsters and those recovering from injuries or not in Jaap's plans.

Yeah, I know that. It'll be Under 23s. But I remember watching a pre season friendly once, back in the day away to Tooting and Mitcham. On the pitch were the likes of Gylfi Sigurdsson, Michail Antonio, Andre Bikey, Scott Davies and others....

So I'm looking forward to this one. Who will be the next star player to progress through the academy?
