Hound its pretty mental, and you do wonder where it will end

It wont it is not ever going to get any better, it is a domino effect-
a premier league standard player is now worth 25 million +
a championship player is now 6 million +
soon anyone in league 1 worth a look at will be 2 million+

Teams that cant afford it will crash out the bottom and teams with large foreign backing will rule the leagues. The day of the underdog is dead.

Sadly this is all very true. The premier league have inflated the prices by paying 25m for average players.

You pay the going rate or you drop to a level that you are comfortable with.

Is that actually the case though? It's not like these players are actually better now they cost 10m

There's always been teams who will pay the highest going rate and they don't always end up at the top

Spurs are obviously a good current example as were both ourselves and Huddersfield last season. More about quality management and coaching than just spending stupid sums of money

Given that we allegedly have £10m to spunk on Wells, I think we should bid £8m for Ashley Fletcher just to run up Boro as if we're playing high stakes celebrity Storage Hunters

Thought Boro would have had enough upfront already to sustain a challenge!

Looking to buy promotion!

7 million? It's no wonder clubs think they can ask for silly money when clubs are prepared to pay silly money.
