The manager of Chorley has said that there "may have been a misunderstanding" after his side were beaten 14-0 by Wigan in a pre-season friendly. Will Grigg scored five.

Chorley fielded their under 21 side, only to see Wigan field nearly a full-strength team an absolutely hammer them. :lol:

Went to Bracknell v Ascot. Bracknell completely dominant throughout really. Hit the woodwork 4 times. A dodgy looking sending off gave Ascot a chance, but Bracknell finished them off even with 10. Adam Cornell scored twice and is looking a real threat.

Another 6-0 tonking for Windsor last night, this time at the hands of local rivals Slough Town.

Ok, Slough are 3 leagues above but I have to say I was very impressed with them. They played some excellent football and I can definitely see them challenging for promotion this season.

As for Windsor, well, we won't encounter a team anywhere close to Maidenhead or Slough's class this season so not much to be learned from the aforementioned tonkings.

Looking forward to Saturday and the trail to Wembley begins with a home tie against... Wembley.

No, or at least he's not with Windsor at the moment.

Barry Hayles was there last night (didn't play). Looked a bit slimmer than when I last saw him play for Chesham. We desperately need someone to stick the ball in the net - it will be very interesting to see how many minutes he can play.

Thanx Rov

Think BH,'s endurance may surprise a few next season if the Chesham NLP match reports last season were anything much to go by....obviously "technique & experience" will bamboozle some of the cherubic opposition.

Few as cherubic as half his team mates I suspect!

Not been keeping up to date much. Had anything moved along with the lease of the ground?!

Going to be strange seeing Maidenhead on BT Sport live. Wonder what type of crowds they'll be getting. Saw a thing on the bbc website about how one of their players is a artist so has flexible working hours but its one hell of a ask for anyone with a 'normal' career!

Windsor 1-4 Wembley

Windsor definitely 2nd best but a piss poor performance from the ref who did Wembley a number of favours.

Keaton August is back and on the bench but didn't get on.

Barry Hayles looked ridiculously fit and nippy for a 45 year old but understandably rusty having missed pre-season.

Warfield ED Stand I meant at the end, by the entrance. They have cleared a lot of bushes etc on the far side however so I think there may be room for expansion.
Agree however, there is only so high they will be able to go at LL.

... was at Larges Lane last Tue too - thought they made heavy weather of a very undercooked Ascot. In truth they could have won by far more but were wasteful on approach to goal. Attendance over 400. :D
Visitors evidently had a fair number of new faces in their side and had no plan to exploit the extra man once Carl Davies was given the Red card 2nd half.

Pertinent to the remarks above re expansion - big bit in the front of the programme (brochure-style now as per Windsor's) - Chairman writing about future development plans in conjunction with Ranelagh School.
Do they own the big open space behind/between the Cemetery/Eastern Industrial Area/Sycamore Rise; on the other side of Larges Lane NORTH of the Railway line. Google Maps etc shows playing fields and an Athletics track of sorts but I couldn't see anyway of accessing it. That might be where he is considering the future of the club - plenty of room to expand there given the backing of BF Council?

Can't imagine the school would contemplate any development on it's own grounds, the other side of the tracks.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
... bit late with review - sorry - here's the scores from the w/e - only getting it done now cos I've wimped out of going to Bulpit La tonight - too wet 'n 'orrible :oops: :roll: - thought I read on twitter that us RFC ST holders :wink: might be entitled to half price admission on production of said ST - Sw!nedon fans get the same discount allegedly! :| Will bear that in mind for future Monday fixtures and will of course report back.
- was at this yesterday PM - H/I also made hard-work of getting past the STEP06 outfit from the S.Mids One - home side picked up their habitual red card - stupid lunging challenge by newly introduced sub - cue long bout of handbags involving most of the players and both benches. - made it to this on Sat PM - driving conditions horrendous down the M23 nr Gatwick - as well as long queues on to it from the M25. Home side from Southern Combination Div One (ex-Sussex League and STEP06) took a shock lead but conceded shortly after following straight red card (last man challenge) and spotkick. Redhill from the CCL Premier - delightfully nicknamed 'The Lobsters' - then scored at regular intervals - even missed another penalty.
So, how long before the whole Billericay Town thing goes spectacularly wrong?
Did a bit of Due Dil on the owner for the fun of it a few months back and it doesn't paint a pretty picture I can tell you. Looks like this is all just one big 'look at me'.
I have backed Dulwich Hamlet to win the Isthmian League at 20/1 on the basis that this will all likely end in tears a lot sooner than most people think. £30,000 a week wage bill :lol:
In what way? I've only heard his name and read the headlines about the wage bill and the names he's signed, what's the baggage he's bringing alongside his money?
Well without going into too much detail, he has a criminal record for a fly tipping operation, has started and dissolved more companies than you've had hot dinners & has spent time in a mental hospital. Tried to buy Dagenham & Redbridge before owners smelt a rat & pulled out. Seems he just wants to make a name for himself. I'm sure he will certainly do that.
Going to be another Hornchurch isn't it?
Has any NL club actually succeeded going down this route?
