As for other areas of the squad, i'm more concerned about right-back if Gunter isn't available for any reason. Watson and McCleary both injured (and i'd rather McCleary played as a wing-back than a full-back), and Dickie out on loan. I guess we could stick Moore, (or maybe Ilori at a push?) out there if we're playing a back 4, but there aren't any obvious options that I can think of.

Sounds like for whatever reason he lost his confidence last season - obv Stam needs to get that back

He is an option that gives us some extreme pace which is always useful for stretching a defence etc. Don't see him as being our 'big' signing but hopefully a solid squad man

We have Popa, who has pace and last Saturday looked more than useful plus showed he has a hell of a shot on him. Unless McLeary is seen as being too fragile to play regularly we are going to be well stocked with right wingers....

Like Genome, I will only believe it when it is confirmed on the Reading FC wbsite. Didn't the media claim S Clarke had signed for Fulham, and there are multiple "signings" reported that prove to be false.

IF he does sign can we nickname him Will? it's much easier to pronounce than Modou.
