Take it from someone who knows maffff well, he isn't a WUM. If he says he saw discussions taking place then he did. It doesn't however mean a deal will be agreed.
If you take a look a Craig Beazley's Twitter, he said on 25 July that the deal was still on, and last night he claimed a £9.5m offer had been submitted and expected an announcement within a week. He too isn't the sort to play the fool and is respected by those that know him. So lets just wait and see.
