Guess my thinking is that radio commentary is a different beast to tv commentary but if they can sync it up suitably then why not.
I have them both turned on now (need to mute the video). Where they roughly in sync for the QPR game?

My subscription on iFollow doesn't seem to have been switched over, even though my Player subscription doesn't run out until next month. However, I am currently listening to Dellor/Gooding on the BBC iPlayer Radio app (being UK-based but outside the BBC Berks catchment) which I couldn't before - so if this isn't a mistake and carries on, I will be happy, since radio commentary was what I mainly used Player for.

The iFollow stream was very good until half way through the second half, when the quality dropped - lots of pauses in the feed and poor quality when it was working. Was that just me or did other people experience the same?

But when it worked it was very good, especially linked to the audio stream (and getting the timing right using the iFollow buttons).

Exact same for me. Second half it was awful.

Listened to the whole thing on BBC RB streamed on iPlayer Radio. Someone must have forgotten to apply the streaming block to it. Long may that continue.

Same for me. Lots of dropped frames second half.

Whats this about an audio stream? I just had BBC Radio Berks on at the same time.

3points Now noticed for both the QPR and Gillingham games that I was able to get BBC Berks commentary on digital radio which wasn't the case in previous seasons. Anyone seen if the Beeb now has digital radio rights or something?

The EFL Cup is always available online. The licensing issues are different for that competition.

Was the QPR game online or on your digital radio/ tv? The games should always be available on digital radio (or on digital tv), that is regional so (in theory) it is available to the same audience as the FM transmitters. The licence restrictions apply to online only.

that doesn't work at all. Last season all EL games were restricted, even if you lived in Reading. So far this season I picked up the QPR game at home, and the carabao cup game from the Peak District. Was at the game today so couldn't tell

The audio stream available in iFollow is BBCRB.

Do you have both audio commentary and stream on at the same time online? I haven't figured out how to do that.

From my testing, it can only work on a computer.

Open the audio into a new tab, so right click > new tab. Then open the video.

The audio may be out by a second or so, so once you work out which one is in front - pause that a little at a time until it is synced.

I was able to sync audio and video on my phone for the AV match, however, I needed to use the TuneIn radio app for the BBCRB commentary as there is no way to get both in the android app.

it seems that BBCRB has lifted its ban on the commentary, i can listen to it now, when originally it would cut out at kick off.

Yes, could get BBCRB commentary in Crete last night. Now cannot see any reason to get an IFollow subscription whereas in previous years I've had a Reading Player subscription, mainly for radio commentary when I've been working away during the week

Can I just say, guys, I am so happy to be able to watch the team each week. It has been a long 9 years supporting from Australia and listening every game.

Great isn't it - over the past 4 years had obviously only seen the games Sky have put on - this year, I'll probably get to see more games than most Reading fans in the UK and all from the comfort of my sofa.
