You'd have to think that Rickie Lambert, who is available as he's without a club, would be a ridiculously sensible and logical punt. When Bodvarsson went off yesterday our shape looked f u cked so we just have to have another option, and I can't see him playing Sam Smith.

Rossi is also available, so I'd also be tempted to at least get him in training with the club to see if he can offer something.

Sorry, but the emergency loan system is a thing of the past. Clubs can only sign players not attached to any club. We now have to wait until January before we can sign players on loan from another club. Another fine mess you got us in, FIFA!

In fact, looking at Transfermarket, the best two options appear to be either Welliton, who probably wouldn't get a work permit, or Simon Church.

I'd prefer one of the players we've got even if they're less than ideal. We're already paying them, and Lambert's sunk without a trace for a reason.
