Maybe those with long memories can help me.
A gangling centre back in the early seventies.
Thin, curly, but long ginger hair. Adrian something or other.
Absolutely no better at football than those standing around me in the town end back then. (pre-segregation).

Biggest disappointment for me was Steve Moran.
Was a "big signing" for us. He had been on the fringes of the England scene, we smashed our transfer record, spent £250K getting him, and he was about as effective around the box as my mother in law.

Agree with all of the comments about all of the Burns signings. Evers and Reilly in particular.

Dear lord, we've signed some proper dross over the years.

Edit/ I actually liked Brian Howard. He'd suit Stam's style of play.
Edit/ I think that defender was called Martin James

Paul Bodin was absolutely awful. Did see him have one truly epic game versus former club Swindon though...

Michael Meaker

entertainingly bad, like the shit jimmy kebe, but without the blistering pace
suffered in our assessment of him due to who he replaced imo
I actually quite liked him.
no way near the worst for sure

Why not tell us? If he's written it in his own book you can't get sued for libel if you repeat it.

If everyone had seen Malcolm Swain, this thread wouldn't exist.

Who was that pikey we signed from Exeter? Around the late 80s early 90s. Very good at fouling and getting booked not a lot else.

Focher Jonathon Bond

Very very harsh. Granted he's probably not quite up to standard but he does have England U21 caps and never really had a chance with us

wiggso Can Daniel Carriço get mention? noted he went on to better things but was utterly terrible when he played for us.

Obviously the usual suspects:

Keith Scott
Royston Drenthe
Mass Sarr
Brian Howard was terrible.
Did not rate Matty Robinson (even if that makes me "plastic" )
Thought Paul Bowdin was dogtoss for us too.

Didn't Carrico only play like 2 halves after coming back from a long injury recovery?? I remember thinking he looked tired but good.

Paul Brayson.

Why is this even being debated? It is just Paul Brayson, end of discussion.

Agree - this guy was awful and played for us in the lower reaches of division 4 against the likes of Workington & Southport.

If anyone thinks some of the fans treatment of the players is harsh at the moment the treatment meted out to the likes of Swain & co was far worse and the players could hear everything said at Elm Park with a 3k attendance.

Keith Scott 5 goals in 35 was never to be our worst...his PANTS day goal celebration directed to the Eaststand was actually quite funny.

Matt (had his own tribute "Bone Day") Robinson was one of those player/catalysts that helped get us out of that shitehole that we were currently in....and subsequently was one of those players that helped us stop that rot at that moment time....far, very far from one of our worst ever.
